These two games were a crucible, a weeder course, a midterm test, and we passed. Where we go from here is anyone’s guess.

I think this "general" knowledge is a lot more of fans thinking things than reality.
and I think you're wrong:

like I said, a change in ownership "generally" results in management changes. And Dundon made major changes with his hockey team when he assumed control in 2018. Obviously, that doesn't mean he'll do the same in Portland since once doesn't make a trend. But what I said was accurate

This fourth quarter was a thing of beauty.
ok...I was reading the thread and you made several posts 'during the game' that displayed as a couple of hours after the game according to the time of the posts that registered for me. Did you record the game and watch it later? Are you stuck in a time warp or am I?

Look at the most recent NBA ownership changes and get back to me.

Comparing things to what he did in the NHL is pointless. The NBA is a player driven league where they have the power not the gms and owners.

If he wants stability and players wanting to play here, etc, he can't go about things like he did in the NHL.

and lol. Did you seriously go with AI with your response?

Again look at the last 5 NBA ownership changes and how many changes they made and *why* they made those changes if they did.

We can't one hand be pointing out how much better the last two seasons have been, and the growth of Shaedon and Donovan and how great Deni is doing AND the draft capitol haul they got for Damian etc, and then in the same breath be like "I know what the new owner will do because AI says so!!"

I was at my girlfriend’s house and watched the game when I got home. I like posting in the game threads so i just posted as if the game was happening. If it’s too chaotic I won’t do it anymore.

where was it I said that Dundon was definitely going to make changes? All I said to begin with is that any decision on Splitter would likely be made after Dundon took control and that, 'generally' new owners make changes to management. You can piss on AI but before you un-holster your squirt gun, please show how what AI said in that post was inaccurate. I'm betting you caan't. This wasn't the kind of AI that drives a Tesla into a ditch; this was remedial AI that uses rudimentary algorithms to answer a generalize query.

* Boston: new majority owners took over in 2021 and Brad Stevens was moved to GM, Ime Udoka was hired as HC, then fired after a year; then Joe Mazzula was hired. Boston was already a contender when all this happened

* Utah Jazz: new owners at the end of 2020. Danny Ainge became GM in Dec 2021. He kept Justin Zanick as GM but fired Quin Snyder as coach after the season. Utah had been in the playoffs for 5 straight seasons when Ainge took over, including three seasons of at least 50 wins and 3 appearances in 2nd round. Ainge dismantled that team and dove into full tank mode

* Dallas: Cuban transferred majority ownership in Dec 2023. Harrison was GM; Kidd was coach. Team made it to the finals in 2024; Doncic was traded; Harrison was fired

* Phoenix: Matt Ishbia became owner in February of 2023. Monty Williams was fired as HC 4 months later and Frank Vogel was hired. Vogel was fired 11 months later and Mike Budenholzer was hired. 11 months later, Budenholzer was fired. 2 months later, Jordan Ott was hired as HC. James Jones was GM when Ishbia took over; 2 years later he was 'promoted' and Brian Gregory became GM

* Brooklyn: Joseph Tsai took over at the end of 2019. Sean Marks was GM and still is. Keith Atkinson was fired as HC toward the end of the season. Steve Nash was hired and lasted 2 seasons before he was fired 7 games into his 3rd season; Jacque Vaughn became HC and lasted for a little more than a season before Kevin Ollie became interim HC for 28 games. Then Jordi Fernandez became HC in 2024

* Charlotte: MJ sold his majority stake in 2023. Within a year, GM Mitch Kupchak was fired and Jeff Peterson was hired. And, HC Steve Clifford was fired and Charles Lee was hired

looks to me like a lot of significant changes to management. Sometimes it was to the HC; sometimes GM; sometimes both

I suppose you might argue that this is just the normal churn of an NBA franchise, but considering that in the last 14 years the Blazers have had 2 GM's and 3 HC's, that's not an argument that's very convincing

honestly, I don't know why you are pushing back so hard on the idea that Splitter's future as HC will be decided by Dundon after he takes over; or that new ownership generally makes changes. Both are pretty obvious assertions

no problem...I just noticed the time stamp of your posts and wondered if mine was locked into Omaha

keep it up, remember: "chaos is a ladder"

Sidy Cissoko also needs to be a Blazer for a long time.

Waived by the Washington Wizards when Cissoko was 20 years old. Cronin signed Cissoko 2 days later on the 8th of February, 2025.

Apparently there is no use for players like Deni Avdija and Sidy Cissoko on a team with a 27% win percentage (this season) and 22% last season.

I agree with the Wizards. Guys who play in Turbo mode are needed elsewhere, specifically in Portland.

Wizards Waive Sidy Cissoko

It has been an eventful week for Cissoko, who was traded from the Spurs to the Kings in the De’Aaron Fox/Zach LaVine multi-team blockbuster, then was flipped to Washington in Wednesday’s Jonas Valanciunas deal. Now, assuming he clears waivers on Saturday without being claimed, he’ll be seeking a new home.

It’s unclear if Cissoko will catch on with a new NBA team or if a return to Europe, where he began his professional career, could be in the cards. He’s still just 20 years old (21 in April) and is eligible to sign a two-way contract, so I’d expect some NBA clubs to have some level of interest in him.’
