The Philadelphia 76ers fell to the Portland Trail Blazers, 121-105, on Thursday night at The Center, falling to 16-7 on the season, suffering just their second setback at home. The 76ers’ 10-2 home record remains the best in the league. The Trail Blazers improved to 12-9 on the season.

Per Sportradar, Embiid matched ANDREW TONEY’s franchise record for points in a regular-season quarter with 25. Toney reached the mark in the fourth quarter on March 21, 1982 against Boston. Iverson had 26 in the fourth quarter of Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals on June 1, 2001 against Milwaukee (Stathead).
The 31-point half was the highest-scoring half by a 76er since Embiid had 32 in the first half on Nov. 3, 2018. Per Stathead, Embiid and Iverson(11 times) are the only 76ers to score 31-plus in either half of a game since 1996-97.
It was Embiid’s 11th 20-plus point half this season, tying Portland’s DAMIAN LILLARD for the most such performances in the NBA (Stathead).
Embiid now has 524 through his first 18 games, averaging 29.1 per game. He joins Hall of Famers WILT CHAMBERLAIN, CHARLES BARKLEY and Iverson as the only 76ers ever to tally at least 515 points through their first 18 games of a season (CBS Sports HQ).

FURKAN KORKMAZ made his first start of the season, scoring 13 points, grabbing five rebounds and matching a season high with two steals. It was his third game this season scoring in double figures as he’s now scored 10-plus in two of his last three games.

The 11 rebounds matched a season high, a mark he’s now reached three times. 76ers rookie TYRESE MAXEY led the bench with 15 points (5-8 FG) and four assists. Maxey’s 92 made field goals are fourth-most among 2020-21 rookies (NBA.com/stats).
