The thing is he’s 20 now... I know he’s super young and has a lot of time in his career to grow and I hope he does, but you look at the list of 21 and under guys in the NBA theres a lot of really talented guys. Right now Im not sure if Simons is even top 15-20 in that list. Definitely not an indictment on who he will be someday, but we’ll see.
Anfernee is much better than Dame and CJ were at his age.

Melo getting abused on defense. Kings are just putting in in PnR action and it causes the rest of the team to scramble. All our guys are capable of making defensive plays, but you miss the consistent effort of Aminu/Harkless/Zach on defense out there at all times.

Simons isnt defending well at all... so why the hell is Stotts putting him on Hield?

Is it a teaching moment to have Simons on Buddy? I think Dame would actually do a good job on him.

He never ran a college team.

He never played with grown men overseas.

He's literally played 22 games in his life before tonight that mattered.

Anyone who expects more from him at this point are just looking for reasons to be disappointed or to prove they were right for not buying the hype.

There are tons of talented players in the NBA that never amount to being a star. Saying someone is talented means they have the ability to be a star not that he'll for sure be one 22 meaningful games into his career.

Why would they extend CJ if they thought Simons would be a star this season?
Youre not answering the question at all. Why talk him up all summer? What do they get out of that? Why have their media members saying he’s untouchable, why use Nas’ press conference to bloviate about Simons. Why not just give him minutes without heaping all that on him and let him grow up. Its like if Apple had a new product they thought was going to be amazing and went in 20% into its developement and started selling it hard, and pushed it to market long before its ready, then acting confused when people are like well its not their yet, but maybe someday.

Man Simons is straight up a liability right now it’s kinda hard to watch.

Kings makin 1M pay for what he did to them the last game of last season.

I personally expected almost nothing, but they have force fed him back up PG minutes (which for his developement is probably good), but its pretty clear he’s not really ready to be a good backup PG yet.

Horrible analogy comparing a product to a professional athlete and I did answer the question. You are the one thinking he should be a star but they never said he was going to be one now. Having talent doesn't equal being a star.

When did I ever say he should be a star lol

Isn't that what you talk about in the summer, the development of your future? I think if you watched him practice at length you'd be pretty excited and want to talk about him as well. But then again you can't seem to see what's special about him so perhaps not. ;)

And what's that have to do with Simons needing time to develop?
I never claimed he didnt need time to develope. My entire point is that it was a bad idea to hype him all summer because he does need time to develope. All it does is create expectations that shouldnt be there.
