It's creepy that you look through my windows.

I'm still waiting for Nurk to look like a Beast. He has been BAD this year. Terrible touch around the basket and dumb turnovers. He makes some great plays, but makes about 3 errors for each good play.
His offense and rebounding have been disappointing, but he’s like 90% of the reason that we have good defense.
Nurkic is an enigma. Everyone thought he was phoning it in with Denver last season. He was disgruntled, due to lack of playing time, and lack of respect. He needed to be wanted, he wanted to be needed. And his output for us last season seemed to confirm that view. Give him a little love, show him that he's our man, and he'll perform. That's how it played out last season. And he started this season well, not as good as last season, but still decent. He lost a lot of weight, he hoped to improve his endurance, but he needed to adjust his game style to account for his lack of bulk. However not only has he failed to adjust his game, he also seems to not have improved his endurance. I agree, he is a key factor in our improved defense, but he is up, and down on both sides of the court; and lately he seems more down than up. I think it's very easy to look at such a big man, and forget just how young he is; keeping in mind that big men usually develop slower, we really need to be patient with him. I think his size, and swagger (when it's going well) disguise a player that needs some love, and attention to play well. I reckon he's a confidence player, but does a pretty good job at hiding it. Stick with him, feed him early, keep pumping his tires, and he'll produce for us. Invest in him, play the long game, he'll come through.

....the fuck am I reading here? Nurk has been an absolute beast for about the past month. In fact, he's having the best season of his career right now, and it's not even close. Tonight's loss was NOT on him. Not even close.
just a couple of deluded POR fans

I really dont get you Americans, your understanding of sport...
is terry stotts related to you by any chance, fuck him

Our understanding of sport differs from region to region, my friend. Portland fans are very un-pessemistic and averse to critical
appraisals of players and coaches. If you want to see the absolute opposite of our sort of fandom, go to a Philly pro sports board.
Those people booed Santa Claus..... Oakland Raider fans are MUCH worse. Trust me. America is
a big place. And we do things differently from area to area.

when you look it individually, I agree, his rebounding is disappointing, but the thing is POR was/is the best rebounding team in the NBA, so theres absolutely no problem with his rebounding... individual rebounding means nothing, team rebounding means everything... if we needed more Nurk rebounds, he would get them, its simple as that... when it comes to his offense, I do agree he doesnt look like in those 20 games, but I certainly wouldnt call that "disappointing", and weight loss certainly play the part in his offensive performances, but like himself said, he needs to figure out his body

@Jade Falcon put some of his stats out there, so there you go... I dont know, maybe you expect him tu put 20+ 15 every night

Even if you absolutetly love nurk, you gotta go with Cousins for right now... if Nurk develops (and he should) then have this poll in 4 years and itll be nurk.

But ya gotta be realistic.
No

at this point Dame can fuck off with stotts... cause he has his back

Well, Stotts will eventually take the fall. Dame's loyalty doesn't buy everything. But that will only happen when enough time has passed and the rot of mediocrity has set in. Olshey will eventually need a sacrificial lamb to give to the owner and the press.... and that will most likely be Stotts. But I think that still buys him the rest of the year. If it's another first round playoff exit, then they "will go in another direction."

If we could trade Nurk+Turner to LA for Jordan I'd fucking do it. Tired of those two carelessness...
we should trade you to another forum, Portlands or not... Im fucking around with Strenuus, but man, you really dont like Nurk
every single time you have something to say about him, every fucking single time

whats your problem, seriously...

maybe, I dont know... theres just a lot of things I see that I dont like, you would never see those things in europe
for example, your team is losing and you are dancing, smilling at timeouts... I dont get, I would be fucked up like I always am when my teams are losing

fans booed Leonard and POR fans dont approve it, well, you should come to europe then, boos are piece of cake

all that show at timeouts and half time, its like circus or whatever, I dont get it and I hate it... you bring dogs to the court, I mean, what the fuck, whats wrong with these people... I know its all show for you Americans, but I cant understand it

This. Thank you. What baffles me is that, on the offensive side of the ball, the entire team just runs down the court....except for one or two people, either Nurk or Davis......without even TRYING to get into position to get a rebound. Nobody hustles after it. And it's been like this now for a couple of years.

That's on Stotts. And you can't tell me it's not.....it's pretty glaringly obvious when it happens, and it makes you scratch your head in dismay.

And this too. Unless we're getting Curry or LeBron in return, then Dame isn't going anywhere. Say what you will about him; the facts of the matter is that he's a top 4 or 5 PG in this league. You can't just replace that with anyone.

Stotts is going to be the one to go first. As it should be. And if Dame has a problem about that, then tough shit. This is a business, and he needs to get that through his head.

This made me lol. I honestly don’t think most people gave a shit for the dogs but they kinda always have to have something for halftime so that’s just what they decided. The guys that dunk off the trampolines are also lame.

The part where Brooke interviews the players by asking them questions while they're wearing headphones is fucking hilarious. They need to do more of that.

on the other hand, I like what players from NBA are doing for community, theres no such thing in europe (not that I know of when it comes to basketball, in football I saw things like that... but then again, I dont really follow european basketball... only Adriatic league which feature temas from Ex-Yu)

I dont know if thats their personal decision, or franchise sends them, but I think it goes both ways

and I noticed one other thing, when fans gets prizes at timeouts, playing "games" on the court or stands, etc, I think POR is by far the worst on that part

bad prizes, anyway, Ive seen much better at other franchises...

I agree. It all seems a bit "cheap" to me.

But hey.....Paul Allen pays the dancers $50 a night. So what do you expect?

Then that's your problem. I can count numerous games where he's scored 25, 28, 29, 28, 17, 19.....I sure as fuck wish that POS Meyers would put up those numbers.

AND Nurk plays Defense.

What more do you fucking want?

This is Stotts's problem, not Nurks. Stotts blew that 2nd quarter like a Chilean prostitute.
Are Chilean prostitutes known for their excellence in fellatio?

This isn't all on Stotts. Why does Neil get a pass from so many fans

Oh trust me, I'm not giving him a pass. But he's not the one out there night after night calling up bad plays, not calling proper timeouts, and failing to lead the team on the sidelines.

Olshey definitely has a part to play for terrible contracts. Not to mention not making any moves in FA.

But terrible contracts are not why we lost last night, or why we're choking away leads. That's on Stotts.

I could argue terrible contracts is a big reason.

Neil gets great PR. And he either freezes out reporters who don't give him that or fires the Blazer media reps who don't eat out of his hand.

We are losing games that we SHOULD be winning. At some point, a piece of paper isn't the reason for that. You have to look at the coach.

Olshey did a good job assembling a team after 4 of our 5 starters hit the bricks. It was, from what I gathered, supposed to be a temporary team. The problem, however, is that it became a permanent lineup, instead of adding better pieces and quality players through the draft and FA.

So yes, Olshey has a part to play in that. But ultimately, he's not the reason why we're losing games that we should win. And if you doubt that, then just take a look at Stott's body language during games and press conferences. He knows he's lost, and he knows that he's given up. The man doesn't even bother trying to call a proper time out, for fuck's sake.

That's not on Olshey. That's on Stotts.

I'll add this....if we were bad as a result of bad contracts rather than bad coaching, then we'd look like the Knicks.

Falcon, Stotts is a system coach. He's not a coach who will give you a certain amount of wins over the ability of a group of players. That's why he's always making players fill roles whether they can or not But Olshey couldn't give him the players he needs anyway because Portland doesn't exist in a market that allows quick player turnover. We are always looking for the replacement of a player who has either left or is going to leave. Stotts is overmatched, but I honestly don't know if another coach would be able to squeeze more wins out of this team.

yep, is a joint effort, roster sucks for the payroll we have and it's difficult to trade because of so many bad contracts
