Yeah, Im going to trust me own judgement over yours... Maybe pay attention to the things I've been saying and the way we play and reconsider. He’s one of the best coaches in the NBA and the best coach we’ve had since Adelman. We’re just hitting a rough patch here. We always turn it on after All Star break. Too early to panic.
Hell no. Different coach, same flaws.Would you take Stan Van Gundy in place of Stotts?
CJ countered that by playing amazing.Dame had a bad game. Portland has won many times when Harkless or Aminu have bad games. They've won many times when Nurkic has bad games. They've won many times when the bench has bad games. And they've won a bunch when MeJ has bad games. They don't win much when Dame has bad games
stop having bad games Dame
The thing is, their bench played the right way and was actually good enough to keep the team competitive. Doing that for us would be asking for a 50 point loss. This is a situation where a coach like Pops would bench the whole starting unit for the next game against a tough opponent and start the bench...just to jumpstart the bench...Duncan, Ginobli and Parker watched their fair share of games from the bench
I believe Olshey put this team together.According to Jason Quick, Jody has to give Neil the green light before he can make any changes. If Quick is right it's another situation where Neil takes the blame for something that's probably not even his fault.
It wasnt only the coaches fault.Coach's fault.
Apparently. Smh
Yeah don’t agree that good teams just turn it on after playing this poorly. Usually this logic works when a good team is just cruising until after the all star break, but when a team is just flat out struggling it’s hard to think it’ll all just come together late in the season and even if it does do you want another sweep in the first round cause they spent it all trying to get into the playoffs. Let’s be real, there’s a problem that we need to address before the break.Yeah, Im going to trust me own judgement over yours... Marc GasolNurkic 1/15 FG WTF?? how is that possible for a Center?
When your center has a 4 inch vertical that can happen... . Nah Nurkic is not the entire problem but there’s a reason Denver chose to let him go over JokicNurkic 1/15 FG WTF?? how is that possible for a Center?
And his shot selection. He shot 5 or 6 jump shots and had a couple fadeaway hook shots.. he missed a couple of easy layups too.Marc Gasol

Not any different than it was with Paul.According to Jason Quick, Jody has to give Neil the green light before he can make any changes. If Quick is right it's another situation where Neil takes the blame for something that's probably not even his fault.
oh for chrissakes...yeah, Olshey is blameless for this roster.
I got so tired of some people saying it was Paul Allen and not Olshey responsible for the stupid-contract disaster in 2016. "PA is micro-managing the Blazers forcing poor Neil into bad moves". The flaw to that of course is that if PA was micro-managing the bad decision then he was also micro-managing the good decisions. If you don't blame Olshey for bad moves then you can't give him credit for good ones
Olshey tried to give a max-contract to Roy Hibbert; In his first 2 seasons, he built 2 of the worst benches in Blazer history; he tried to sign Spenser Hawes for a max-MLE; he essentially traded four 2nd round picks for TRob.; he tried to give max contracts to Enes Kanter and Greg Monroe; he tried to give a max contracts to Chandler Parsons and Hassan Whiteside. He traded Will Barton and a 1st for Aaron Afflalo; He traded Batum for Henderson and Vonleh and then dumped Vonleh to avoid tax. He tried to give Meyers 15 M a year in 2015, then gave him 10M/year a year later. He thought Curry and Stauskas were a major upgrade from Napier and Connaughton. He let Ed Davis walk and cleared minutes for Meyers. He spent nearly 40M of Paul Allen's money for 1 year of Allen Crabbe, then traded Crabbe for a 7 year-2.9M a year encumbrance on Portland's cap. He will have spent several million more of PA's money to take on a 5 year encumbrance of Varejao's contract just to get a pick in the draft he used on Swanigan when Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart were available
yeah, he's done some good things as GM, but at a certain point, people who are doing logical backflips to try and defend his tenure have to start looking at the actual record he's compiled...and at the team he's built after 7 seasons years on the job and understand that a lot of people aren't buying the snake-oil excuses anymore
Give me Chauncey Billups and Ettore Messina.oh for chrissakes...yeah, Olshey is blameless for this roster.

And so we fall below the Kings into 9th in the West
yeah, they won the 1st one, 4-2 against Houston
since then, the Blazers are 7-22 in playoff games and 3 of those wins came against the crippled Clippers team.
I want to like this post x100Give me Chauncey Billups and Ettore Messina.
This was about the 5th Blazer game in a row that I turned off before it ended.
Course CJ was the only Blazer who showed up sober tonight...I complained when Nurk only got 9 shots. So tonight he goes out and defiantly shits the bed. Well fuck you Nurk - you just joined CJ on the list as part of the problem instead of part of the solution.
I have passed Kingspeed as the biggest jinx on this board! I may never say anything positive about a Blazer player ever again.

if that is what it would take...a 50 pt loss is no different from a 4 pt loss except the coach looks bad...Stotts honestly looks like he's tired of the same results just like everyone else is...with Paul gone both Olshey and Stotts might be actually wanting new landscapes..I'll bet Stotts would love to coach a team of vets for a change in a big marketThe thing is, their bench played the right way and was actually good enough to keep the team competitive. Doing that for us would be asking for a 50 point loss.
At what point do you think Stotts has to answer for 4 straight years of bad starts? Why have to depend on a furious finish to do well? He’s one of the best coaches in the NBA and the best coach we’ve had since Adelman. We’re just hitting a rough patch here.
