If there was 12 seconds left at the steal/shove then the pass would have had to have been made earlier....before the steal. So like I said around 14-15 seconds left on the shot clock. If Dame's feet were really set for a 3....and he misses with that much time left.....this thread would have been a lot different. You know people would be bitching about Dame and his shot selection with too much time left on the clock.

Maybe CJ made the wrong decision, maybe he didn't. Maybe Giannis pushed with his left hand while cleanly swiping with his right hand...or maybe it was completely clean.....but to guess we win if CJ makes the pass to Dame seems like a stretch.

No, no. I know there was 11 seconds left on the GAME clock... and we got the ball with 30 seconds left. So the shot clock would have been at 6-7 left (the steal happened a second later)

Honestly, with that wide open of a shot, and for it to give us a two possession lead. I take that miss or make. No question. They'll always be the people that bitch about dames shot selection no matter the situation. That situation would warrant a shot... it'd be weird as hell if he decided to drive when he's that wide open.

Just watched the game. Wow. Giannis is MVP this year. We gave it our all but he's good. Any thoughts as to why we only used Turner on him? Why not Aminu?

If Giannis can develop a solid jumper then KD was right, we might be looking at one of the greatest players of all time. He is a monster

I just cant get over this loss, not when you gave them a win, Id rather lose by 30

Dame and CJ cost us a game with those stupid plays, Dame got himself into trouble and there was no going back, but that play from CJ was just idiotic, you have wide open Dame and you wont pass, what a fuck was that, a hero ball, fuck that... Im not bothered by Giannis block on Nurk, thats nothing alike TO from Dame and CJ

I mean, you could have 3-0 road trip, win against a good team that would show we mean business this season and you threw it away... 2-1 road trip would be okay, but after the game we had in our hands, its not good enough for me, this couldve be a huge win, a statement win

Nurk second half was very good and thats encouraging on his part, hopefully full Rose Garden will give him that feeling he had and he will gain confidence, couple of good games and hell be ready to go

Still bummed we let this one slip away, we had opportunities to win it.
Aminu didn't show up, neither on O or D
Encouraged by Nurk 2nd half, he seems to be slowly getting his groove back

All in all that's a tough loss but there was a lot of positive to take away. Onto the next one !

I watched this game on the Bucks feed.
The Bucks commentator:
"Giannis up on McCollum, had a piece of his jersey. No whistle."

Nurkic missed a wide open Patty for the corner three at the end there...:banghead2:

I had to watch this game on the Bucks feed.
I don't want anyone complaining about Calabro and Hurd anymore.

We see Dame get called for a defensive foul, where all he was trying to do was hold his ground against the Bucks guard who initiated the contact, because you're not supposed to make contact with a player above the ft line (which dame was behind), then on the final play we see freak wrap his arm around CJ and knock the ball out with the other. Ridiculous officiating.

Granted, the Blazers did not execute their last 3 plays well. Dame and CJ dribbled deep into traffic without a clear shot. The Nurk block actually should have been a foul, though. If I didn't love the Blazers so much, I'd be so done with the fucking NBA. On one end, the offensive player will plow into the defender and it'll be called a defensiv efoul, on the other, the defender will move into the offensive player, no call.

I haven't seen someone play like that (Giannis) in a long time. The dude is insane. Jacking up threes all night is one thing, but he did it all tonight. Threes, midrange, boards, steals, clutch plays, solid d.

He is the all around best basketball player in the league right now, IMO. This is not KD jumping on an already championship team, or any other of the primadonna piggy backing all-stars in this trend-whore league. This guy carries himself, and his small market team tremendously.
Hands down my favorite non-Blazer.

We played a good team, on their opening night at home, in an arena full of loud fans and their star scored a career high. And we only lost by a couple points. And the refs were shit.

I'm not all that upset by this one. The Bucks were on point tonight and we gave them fits.
It was not their opening night at home. They Played Cleveland at home the night before.

Last year there was a discussion about which players were better than others and I took quite a bit of flak for saying I'd rather have Giannis than CJ. You know who you are. D69 was right all along and you're welcome to buy us a beer.

I wasnt one of those people, as I took flack as well, but CJ is great, just not as great as the Freak

Agreed....it was nothing against CJ, it's just that The GF is that good. I appreciate fans/posters loving their own players but a touch of realism doesn't hurt. CJ is a 'star', but Giannis is a 'superstar' who is marginally better in almost every single category.

Which is why he’s allowed to foul to steal and gets whistles when the defender (Ed) is literally running away from him.

He is very boring to watch imo, i was never into the mutant players (i.e: Durant,KG,Shaq,Lebron even tho i like his passing).

I don't know if he would be so efficient if NBA refs were more pedantic about travel, carry, foul calls without discrimination etc.

That's taking it a bit too far.
CJ is a better ballhandler, a better shooter from every range, better at floaters and i would also argue that he's a better passer.

Yes, Giannis is great. But it wasn't until late last night that I realized that this was one more instance of Stotts failing to strategize to stop a "hot hand". This was a career night for Giannis and there have been many others against Blazers over the years and Stotts just doesn't seem to care to try to stop them; to get the ball out of their hands (and I don't mean to a wide open guy under the basket!). He continues to try to stop them one on one.

It's why I said almost. If you break it down into minutia like 'floaters', than you can say Giannis is better at dunks. CJ might be the better passer, he just doesn't do it very much. In terms of an overall offensive/defensive player, I just don't think it's that close and that is not to take away from CJ's ability to create mid-range shots which is may be the best in the league at.

It took an MVP performance to beat us in a game where I don't think we had too much consistency offensively.

As long as we're in a position to win games, especially on a road back to back, you can live with these type of losses. I didn't see a lack of effort, a lack of talent. We just got beat. So what, on to the next one.

Agree 100%... you can’t win every game... this was 3rd straight road game, against a very good defensive team, and we almost won. I am very impressed with the start to the season

We both agree that Giannis is more valuable as an NBA player, but saying that Giannis is marginally better in almost every single category while ignoring CJ's superiority when it comes to dribbling, shooting and passing is kinda ridiculous, wouldn't you say? I mean, those three things are basically how you rate a player from an offense standpoint.

Also, dunks are not as valuable as the ability to make floaters and runners. That's why Tony Parker was so much better than Nate Robinson.

I know what you meant to say, but i think you just phrased it wrong.

Lost to the Bucks on a back to back. It also happened to the Whorriors last year.

Most encouraging thing to me is Lillards defense. He's the leader, so it all starts with him. If he plays with that kind of effort, it trickles down.
