I think we lulled them to sleep with our early incompetence. Jokic not even wanting to shoot cuz it seems too easy. They will come out really strong against up 2nd half and if it gets close, just let Jokic try to score every time.

I think coach told him we can't afford for him to foul out, and jumping is the easiest way to pick up fouls, especially against a smart opponent.

come on man, he hasn't done that in his hole career. this is nothing to do with foul trouble-- he just has 0 defensive instincts

Agreed. Jumping when you're highly unlikely to block or greatly alter a shot just puts him at risk to foul and be out of position for rebounds.

Asking him to defend Jokic is a big ask. Doubling him on the regular is also a receipe for disaster. Tough spot to be in. Would be nice to have Nurk & Collins tonight.

I think they, as a team, have finally gotten comfortable with what DJJ can do offensively, and are finding him and utilizing him more.

His shot hasn't been there, and some weird TOs to start the game, but 10 assists in 19 minutes is pretty good. He's still impacting the game.
