And with strength will come better balance which will allow him to better get to his spots offensively, defend w/o fouling and just better hold his position overall.

Still learning how to make the simple play offensively, but he's gotten better here.

It's a process, but it's going to be worth it in the end. I just the feeling I have.
3-5 years for a big to get up to speed you got to figure. In Meyers case 7-8???

Meyers played very little basketball and even in college he didn't play a long time...he had to get some instincts..still does in some areas...other draft picks are born with a basketball like Seth Curry

He is playing pretty well now. Of course he has holes in his game. Just happy there are some good things happening for him and he is helping the team get some wins.

nice win against a team that uglies-up most games. Father time may be knocking on Gasol's door I think

good thing Dame woke up in this game because CJ never did

Super duper play from the bench tonight. Awesome victory considering the slow start, against a quality opponent. Bravo! The 3rd qtr. play has been spectacular the last couple of games on both ends. Dame's play on the defensive end has been stellar. His anticipation and timing made for two blocks that were just as key as his shooting. It would be nice if he got a little more respect from the refs though. Just can't say enough about how the bench has turned around their play. Curry is starting to look like the Curry in Dallas, and THAT! is a wonderful thing to behold. Go Blazers!!

Dame's efficiency is elite right now, especially for a guy getting over 27 points per game.

Honestly, other than Bill Walton's MVP season, we might be seeing the best individual season by a Blazer player ever.
Drexler had some incredible seasons too on both sides of the ball.

Olshey will probably give him an extension this summer because of games like this...
So it begs the question. If Meyers continues to play like this and contributes like this in ways that help the team win what would you expect him to do?

Meyers is shooting 50% and 44% from 3 pt. His per 36 is over 15 points and 11 rebs. He is getting 3.2 assists and is a 84% free throw shooter.
His offensive rating is 128 and defensive rating is 110.
He is giving them an average of 12 mins a game as a backup and can take some of the load when Nurk gets in foul trouble.

What is Meyers Leonard worth?

I'd take anything for him. He'll regress.

After the game, Dame said he practices really crazy shots in the summer like the one he hit tonight.

What a turnaround from the last game in the +/- category. Our bench was awful against Clippers, but basically saved the day this game.

Bench and Dame played really well today. Moe played well too. Gasol is just a really bad match up for Nurkic at this point.

Very excited to see the Blazers win some games. Good pick me up!

Yeah, he's playing well against middle-of-the-road teams like Memphis. I didn't see him doing shit against the Warriors when they had 2 of their starters out.

Not criticizing his play tonight (though he did make a couple of stupid mistakes, he seemed okay overall....), just trying to keep things in perspective.

That intents and purposes commercial is soooooo awful. I've completely stopped watching anything after the final buzzer sounds.
I thought it was funny the first couple of times. But I've seen that commercial probably 100 times so it's definitely worn off.

From our Blazers site:
TOP PERFORMERS

• Damian Lillard scored a game-high 24 points (9-18 FG, 5-8 3-PT, 1-1 FT), including 15 in the third quarter (5-8 FG, 4-5 3-PT, 1-1 FT). He added five rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks.

• Meyers Leonard led the Trail Blazers bench with 12 points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds to go with two assists and one block.

• Zach Collins had 10 points (3-6 FG, 1-2 3-PT, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and one block. It was the 10th time this season that Collins scored in double figures.

• CJ McCollum finished with 11 points (5-16 FG, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal.

• Jusuf Nurkic posted eight points, seven rebounds and two steals in 21 minutes. • Maurice Harkless recorded nine points (3-4 FG, 1-2 3-PT, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and one steal.

• Seth Curry and Nik Stauskas scored eight points each while Evan Turner added six points, five rebounds and four assists.

• Mike Conley led the Grizzlies with 23 points (7-19 FG, 5-10 3-PT, 4-5 FT) to go with four rebounds, six assists and one block.

That really isn't correct. Meyers was one of the only bright spots against the Warriors
M. Leonard 12:45 4-6 FG's 8 points and 6 rebs with 2 ast. No Blocks

It was a blowout but Nurk and Meyers played well. Collins on the other hand, had a bad game. Seems like this is where i have problems with Terry Stotts also. No question the Blazers had some advantages in that game but they didn't abuse the Warriors the way i think he could have. However i was not on the sidelines and it is always easy to judge from my couch.
