This is like the 10th time in the last 2 years Dame forces a nightmarish 3pointer at the last second when we only need 1-2 points.

They played with enough heart, but their heart was dumb as fuck at those last 10 seconds.

Did you read the game plan that both Stotts and Dame said was supposed to happen?
I suggest doing that first before just pointing fingers.
Was the shot a solid one? No. did we have a choice? Not really.

I'm pretty sure he could've passed it to CJ and Deron Williams was on his ass (3 sec to go)

It's just upsetting that the same thing has already happened so many times in the past.

I ran it back and watched the play and either a different camera angle or I missed this portion of it. The only replay I saw showed just Wes and Dame and an empty court. I didn't see CJ open like that.

CJ was open cutting into the lane with no one near the key. Crabbe's guy was flat on his ass. Not the peak of offensive efficiency in terms of getting a good shot. :smiley-squint:

Wes looks like he might have been in a position to deflect a pass, but maybe not?

That's always a possibility in an NBA game though.
Idk, it's hard to judge a human for not doing the correct move in a very short amount of time with that kind of pressure. I just want to see something else besides the unbelievable dame 3 from time to time.

The play was drawn up by an offensive genius - it's the players fault for not executing properly.

Obviously the play was the correct play, as two players were open. Unfortunately, the player who wasn't open took the difficulty 10 shot. Unless that was the play. God I hope not.

Actually, at 2.9 sec Williams is still on his feet. Don't look at the time on the TV clock (it's .2 seconds slower than the game clock for some reason, which is what Dame was looking at) At 2.5 seconds, Williams hits the floor & CJ starts to flash into the lane. If Dame manages to hit CJ in stride without Matthews deflecting the pass, it's possible CJ gets to the rim before the buzzer w/o getting his shot blocked by the 6'8" Finney-Smith, who is on his hip. Forget about Crabbe, there isn't enough time left to get him the ball without a passing lane. You have to credit Wes for blowing up the play. He got into Dame from the time he caught it & hogtied him from 9.8 to 4.6 second mark. The play was designed for Aminu to set a ball screen to Dame's left, but Wes blew it up. Dame had to spin back to his right to get any daylight, and Aminu just had to get out the way. Vintage Wesley Matthews D. But the game wasn't lost on the last play. It should have never came down to that. When you're down 25 in the 3rd, a lot has to go right to dig out of that hole.

Roy never made it to second round. Lillard has done it TWICE and as the underdog. No comparison.

Roy's teams weren't very good and his coaching was awful with McMillan. LMA wasn't what he is now either the whole time Roy was here.
