Torey- cut it out. You're embarrassing yourself. No one is with you on this.
I'm embarrassing myself by acting like you?

I got hundreds, maybe thousands of people with me.

That was poor recognition by CJ. Melo came to help there against Ingram to prevent the block iso mismatch. Soon as Ingram passed it to Holiday. CJ should've went to find a man and give Ingram to Melo.
Instead he forces Melo to close out the guard in the corner. Which he can't do cause old and slow.

We don't know how help and recover properly.

It's more than just that. The starting lineup had problems defending.

I mean, we're the best defensive team since the Bad Boy Pistons, except we're better!
lol, I know you're messing around. This is my opinion and I may be just being overly critical but the Blazers play really bad team defense. They rely on great plays in one on one defense to get stops. I always watch defense as it's more my thing than offense, but look at how teams guard the Blazers it's all team defense, funneling the guards into shot blockers or help defenders. The way they trap and all that it's all team defense, the Blazers don't really do that type of stuff, when they run Zone they're constantly out of position there too which I mean it's a zone you guard the zone you're in, but it doesn't work if your big goes to the weak side and is guarding air.

I will say, I'm kind of impressed with Simons defense though, he moves his feet really well, he gets hung up on screens, but that's something that comes with experience. They just play an "interesting" style of defense then what many other teams play.

Though it sounds better than your negativity, stop mocking King.

That wasnt at the end of that quarter. Need get focus coming out of the locker for third.
I hate when we play down to our opponents. I could understand it a little bit if we were 20-10, but were 14-16.

He came at me first get your facts straight before being obviously biased for your buddy. I'm simply trying to save the forum.

We're still shooting poorly from deep, but now NOLA is getting worse too. Great free throw shooting from the best free throw shooting team in the NBA has us the lead.

You ran KJIronman out of the thread. He commented on it and asked KJ to join him in PM. Your running people out of here. No bias at all. I would have called you out no matter who you were aping.

Blazers with the lead shooting 1 of 12 from 3?
Gotta figure that will improve.

I mean it was sort of expected right?
Harkless & Aminu were good to great defenders in both help defense and on ball.
Some of the loss from those two was supposed to be mitigated by Collins & Hood.(While neither are as good defensive those two were. They're better offensively, in Hood's case... Far far far far better)
But they're gone.
Bazemore for as quick and long as he is, he bails out the other team far too much with stupid fouls.
Simons while being young isn't the offensive nor defensive player Curry was/is.

Lillard & CJ aren't good defenders. They're not bad defenders, they're just below average.
Defense was always going to be an issue with this team. playing on that imaginary string was always going to be learnt as you go.
It's just worse with Collins & Hood down.

Personally as soon as Collins went down this team is where I thought they'd be. Hovering around 500.
Hopefully Nurk & Collins both come back and are able to contribute. But with Hood going down and Simons not ready to stretch the floor like Curry was last year. It'll be rough sledding unless they can trade for a shooter.

It’s okay Chris. I just take breaks bro.
I don’t take things personal here.
Just don’t like to argue mundane stuff.

Actually you'd think that if you lost close two "elite" wing defenders you'd make your defensive style more team defense-oriented. I actually think Zach and Whiteside were going to make an awesome defensive tandem, pretty disappointed we didn't get to see them form some chemistry together.

good post btw, I enjoy the conversation.

I believe this team would be better and would produce more wins with Nurk. Collins, and Hood playing.
Just my take.
They would be deeper and would have more options on both defense and offense.

We 2-16 from the 3 if not hitting them you have do something different with the offense this one reason this is close.

IDK personally I think Aminu covered up a lot of the defensive mistakes Stotts' system has.
A decent portion of last year I was complaining about Aminu and his lack of being in the right spot and defensive lapses.
I never really cared about his offensive production because I could see how productive he was on the other end.
But with that gone.... I just don't think Stotts and co really knows how to coach defense.
This zone thing to me is proof of that as either the players are usually out of position. Or he doesn't know how to put them in position in the zone properly.
With the history Stotts has. I go more with him being at fault than the players.
