The best Nurkic played last year and this year was when combined with Vonleh....and Vonleh was rebounding better and shooting a much higher percentage. So makes sense Stotts would totally go away from that, right? :banghead2:
Just got done watchin the replay - that was pretty bad. Shows us just how bad this team is w/o Dame, how poor CJ is tryin to be any kind of PG and just our poor and unbalanced talent level on a Lux tax team. Sorta depressing but it is what it is, just reinforces my desire to trade CJ and start remaking this team within the likely limited options we have short of blowin it up and trading Dame. Time for Stotts and Olshey AND CJ to go IMO

Moe was good yesterday with 2 blocks. Maybe, just maybe if he would have defend bradley beal, james harden or nicolas batum instead of Evan turnover (his Defense is overrated af) they wouldn't have scored so many Points against us. Moe is way better on Defense than Turner + he proved that he can Shoot 35% or even better from 3. Evan turnover has 19(!)% this year. If he can find back to last Year Moe he is so much better than Trash Turner

Not to put everything at Jusuf's feet because I sort of assumed he was an afterthought in the trade with Denver in the first place and cautioned people at the time not to expect too much. But once he flashed a level of dominance that he did, it suddenly reset expectations and seemed to provide a path out of the spiral of mediocrity the team was locked in. Him regressing to the mean isn't the primary reason the team has backslid, but by being "just OK" they don't really have any shot at being something better than what they are presently -- it means that we're right back where we were last year before the Nurkic trade: A bloated payroll, a bunch of journeymen, and a couple of guards that are very good and pretty good offensively (Damian and CJ respectively) but are inadequate defensively as a pair to ever seriously form the bedrock of a championship team.

So no, I don't blame Nurkic for the team's overall performance; Turner, and Harkless have been much more disappointing (for instance), but his erratic and sloppy play have been a pretty reliable bellweather for the fortunes of the team.

Lillard has turned into a legit defender, he'll never be a defensive stopper like Mike Conley. But he's no longer a negative on that end.

Plumlee towers over Nurkic, who must be about 6-10. Height is part of the reason he doesn't complete dunks. It's also why he's more agile than Plumlee. Nurkic would be a great PF alongside a top Center.

Vonleh is a miniature Center, not terribly agile, playing PF due to height. He barely suffices at Center duties to free up Nurkic to play more offense.

I was just about to say... to make it all worse Kuzma is the fucking truth yet we decided to draft our second PF in the same draft instead of our position of most need.
That's always been a puzzler; when you are down in the late 20's you are looking for need. Did he have hopes of getting rid of Leonard and has already decided can't re-sign Ed and Vonleh?

Kuzma was looked at as a PF entering the draft so...
And, after looking at who went after Swanigan, there wasn't much as far as small forwards. Iwundu is 6'7" but considered a guard and is doing very little for Orlando. Could have traded down for Dillon Brooks, but still doubts about his long range success.

That's why I said the pairing is inadequate. Damian is finally just average on defense while CJ is still a sieve. Put them together and it's a net negative.

So I fell asleep before half time with the game on... woke up at the end of the 3rd to see we scored 66 points... went back to sleep and woke up at 6:30 am.

I am so happy.

Not sure why he would with this mess. For a fan, a family of 4 paying $50 a ticket have spent $1200 since last seeing a Blazer win at home. That is before parking and $9 beers.

Damnit, why are the kids drinking?!

I would love to trade Nurk so bad.. he’s starting to be my least favorite player on the team.

He’s stupid as fuck on the court. A turnover machine. Bitches 24/7 to the refs, flops, please get rid of this guy

I can agree with most of this here.

apparently a lot of people are with ya....I couldn't go there on homecourt....it's like farting really loud in church...

My thing is: I don't boo if I see effort and we still lose by 20.

No matter what we spew here on the forum, when the home crowd boos like that at the TEAM....it's a sign of heads rolling

Glad they booed... it'll expedite the process hopefully.
