People talk about how useful it is to have a 7 footer that can space the floor.. But he doesn't play like a 7 footer at all so what does it matter? They can put a 6'6" guy on him and not be hurt by it.

This. He doesn't use his size AT ALL. He gets taken down by 6-8 PFs all the time. It fucking kills me. He doesn't get offensive or defensive rebounds either. All he does is pass and shoot.

I wonder if Stotts has something to do with that?

He's just at that stage where he knows what he should do, he just has to think about how to do it every step of the way. What do they call that... conscious competence? It's what we've seen from Meyers for most of his career. You can see the wheels turning, but it's happening too slowly to be effective.

The real question is will he ever be a special player, or is he just going to become competent.
