You know I've never seen an episode of it. Love lawyer/law movies too. Just never stopped to watch one.

I guess that's fair. I never stopped to watch Gunsmoke (the other longest running show) until I got sick a few years ago. Every show is the same plot. Criminals come to town to try out Marshall Dillon, 6'7" 240 pound James Arness. He kicks the shit out of them and then shoots them. That show ran for 18 years....

Unlike Steve Blake, a hall of famer and one of the greatest of all time.

Yes, of course, just ask him!

Seriously, I grew up near Charles O. Finley back when he owned the A's. So, while I was a Cubs fan the A's were my 2nd favorite team. Charlie O. certainly had a lot of innovative ideas and assembled some great talent - before losing it all to free agency. Those early 70s A's teams were so much fun to watch and the year Rickey stole 130 bases was insane. Everybody in the stadium and watching at home knew every time he reached first, he was going to try to steal 2nd and possibly 3rd. Didn't matter what the score was, or what inning it was, he was off to the races. Just try and stop him. Walking Rickey was like giving up a double to anyone else.

That made me laugh. Gunsmoke was my dad's favorite show.

Seriously. You want to shout at the TV.

"WHY THE HELL ARE YOU FIGHTING A GUY WHO'S BUILT LIKE DICK BUTKUS?!"

There are always like five of them who attack him at once. And he still beats them up.

James Arness was the original Thing in the
black and white movie. So the way I look at it they are just fighting a sheriff from outer space.

I loved Perry Mason. You'd think the Burger guy would just give up. He ALWAYS lost! He should have known there was only 3 minutes left in the show and whenever he would see good ol Paul Drake poke his head in the door.....he knew he was fucked right?!?

Yeah. I always felt bad for Burger. Perry Mason always owned his ass in court.

Perry Mason. Damn, we're going way back. Perry would just watch that door waiting for the last minute evidence. Oh the suspense!!

Didn't he lose once? Seemed like he wanted to though.

That was, is and always will be my sister's favorite show. I bet she's seen every episode at least 50 times. Not only does she know Perry is going to win, she knows how and why he's going to win, but still can't stop watching.

I remember seeing James Arness as a guest on the Dean Martin Show. Dean drunkenly slurred, tha' guy iss REALLY tall, he mus be 6'12"!

Totally cracked my dad up.

Here's Arness fighting Chuck Connors . Who played professional football and baseball. So at least they couldn't make it a quick one.

I was at the game when Rickey broke the all time stolen base record. I shot t picture of him holding up the bag, and he signed it for me.

I always thought Della Street was the unsung hero.

Mason did lose one case

I think @hoopsjock might give you a run for your money.

I'm not sure you can guard me either but, I've never really been a scorer so you might win a 7 game series. But your not sweeping me!
Nah. My game isn't as translateable to outdoor halfcourt. You haven't seen me play to my true ability yet.

I've locked up D1 players before. I could guard you. You were missing rim in FTs...

I wish y'all would play in my league lmao.

Like I said before if I was 15 years younger it would be a battle with Bones and I. Honestly, I can't move quick enough laterally anymore with my foot issues. I could score on him but he'd probably win.

I like to play off of teammates, pass, and try to make others better instead of just go one on one so my style is more suited for a team game. I also prefer to play full court and more up tempo where I can use my ball handling and passing in a more open area but it's fun to play 3 on 3 too.

A battle that I'D WIN!

From the 3 on 3 footage I saw Id just like to say with all due respect to you and HJ, dviss moves like he’s using a teleporter compared to everyone else out there. The shooting didnt seem to be there. Ive played with D1athletes and a few ex NFL players and id say he looked every bit as quick as they did. now, I know it was video’s and nothing all that long but unless youve got a whole different level to get to Im not sure you could lock him up, maybe sag off and dare him to beat you from out there would work, but that man can move.

No offense to @dviss1, but he's not as quick as D1 guards. He's fast as shit once he gets going (or so he tells me), but top speed and acceleration are different.

We can test this out so I can prove myself to you...

I never said I'd win, you're really good, but I've held my own against plenty of D1 and NBA players in my life so I wouldn't back down and certainly wouldn't make it easy on you.
I respect that.

I'm not humble when it comes to actually playing. I'll admit it.

Ive worked out almost all summer, and tried to play a few times but I dont trust my knees at all, so I dont know what itd prove. Other than you could move faster than a guy who still has swelling every night in both knees, its been 5 almost 6 years since ive played basketball competitively.
edit: The swelling actually got better for a few weeks before I went and tried to play.
Anyways, on video which I know doesnt tell the whole story he looked a heck of a lot quicker than everyone else out there.
