:reading:BLAZERS' OFFICIAL GAME NOTES
• Monday marks the first of four matchups between the Trail Blazers and Timberwolves in 2015-16.

• Portland and Minnesota split the season series (2-2) in 2014-15, with each team winning its two home contests. The Trail Blazers had previously won the season series in 2012-13 (4-0) and 2013-14 (3-1).

• Dating back to 2007-08, the Trail Blazers have gone 11-4 on the road against the Timberwolves (8-0 from 2007-08 to 2010-11).

• Portland is 26-5 against the Timberwolves dating back to the start of the 2007-08 season. Minnesota’s two wins against Portland last season were its most against the Trail Blazers in a single season since 2011-12 (2-1).

• Damian Lillard averaged a team-high 22.3 points against Minnesota last season on 40.5% shooting. Lillard has scored in double figures in all 11 career games against the Timberwolves, including five games of 20-plus points.

• In Portland’s most recent game against Minnesota on April 8, 2015, CJ McCollum scored 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting in the team’s 107-93 victory.

• The last time Minnesota won two games against Portland in the regular season (2011-12), the Trail Blazers swept the four-game season series the following year (2012-13).

• Portland has won six of its past eight series-openers against the Timberwolves (0-1 in such games played in Minnesota during that stretch).

• Trail Blazers forward/center Mason Plumlee and Minnesota forward/center Kevin Garnett were teammates in Brooklyn from 2013-14 to 2014-15.

HEAD-TO-HEAD HISTORY:
ALL TIME: Trail Blazers lead, 73-29
IN PORTLAND: Trail Blazers lead, 41-11
AT THE TIMBERWOLVES: Trail Blazers lead, 32-18

The Wolves have a nice team. Some very nice young talent with some solid vets.
I want to see Lillard, CJ and Frazier getting as many minutes as possible at the guard positions. Don't wanna see just Dame or CJ with Crabbe at the 2, it doesn't work. If one of them sits Frazier needs to play and then we win every game. The problem is Stotts doesn't listen to me because he knows better and the team keeps losing. Crabbe, Harkless and Aminu should only play the 3, or 4 in a small lineup. The only lineup I could see Crabbe playing the 2 is actualy with Frazier as PG because he's the best pure PG. If we play just CJ or Dame with Crabbe, they're having problems running the offense and creating for others. CJ and Dame together works because it gives us enough fire-power, it may be our strongest option but when one of them sits I want the other one to play alongside Frazier

The wolves play some pretty bad teams the last couple game. I watch them little bit the other night and was ugly first half. Towns is good but still makes alot rookie mistake.

The experience of the T-Wolves is what i am most worried about in this game. You look up and down the lineup and there is just no question they have the advantage on the Blazers on the road. My first matchup look goes right to Garnett. If you think Chandler was tough on Leonard then think again. KG is going to come out and in the first 5 minutes try to Punk Meyers right out of his game. There will be a elbow to to chin or shove under the basket that is a little uncalled for. The only way to get this under control is to show complete team unity right off the get go. Andre Miller who happens to be on the opposing team would be able to show the Blazers a thing or two about this.
Probably pretty lucky Pekovic is out because he would eat the Blazers up. Problem is they have this new guy named Towns who i hear might be the real deal? Ha Ha Ha. Just kidding. This kid is going to be a star in this league. 19 and just starting out as a double double machine. Blazers do not have a real answer for this kid but he is young and can make mistakes. What he gives up in experience he makes up for in just being 7 foot and 250 lbs.
Again we have an experience problem in Wiggins and Prince. They also play tough hard nosed basketball. They will not make huge blunder mistakes and will compliment both KG and Towns well.
Now lets talk about Rubio....Yeah that kind of guard that will make you pay if you can't guard that kind of guy. Fast, crafty and pass happy with the ability to score. You won't have to watch to long tonight to say uh oh? They better play defense on that guy. Blazer guards better be on their game tonight. It's a weird trade off when they go from Rubio to Miller. Both can torch the Blazers tonight.
Lavine and Martin make up the guys coming in off the bench and we know they can score the ball.
End look is the Blazers will be looking at a 1-5 start if they can't put together a win on the road here pretty quick. Get used to it Blazer fans as the lottery looks even more likely after i watched a mediocre Suns team make the Blazer look like they are out of their league. There is little chance they make much noise this year but i certainly hope they give me some things to cheer for every few games.
Go Blazers!

sucks to say, but if that new wolves lineup can hold its shit together it could be pretty good.

Listening to ESPN LA and one of their radio dudes just made a good point that I think will apply to us as well.

We will all be more satisfied this year if we place tape on our screens/TVs to cover up the scoreboard during games. Focus on player development, focus on how the guys play and forget the wins/losses.

The sad thing for the Lakers and their fans is that they don't have much protection on their pick this year (top 3 to PHX), while we have ours if we miss the playoffs (lotto protected to DEN). So sit back, relax, and watch the young guys get torched while showing glimmers of hope.

I like this idea; if I zoom in, the score disappears; so I'll just do that.

They've played Denver and the Lakers; the two worst rosters in the conference.

They start Garnett and Prince who are both near 40 along with a couple of teenagers.

Not that we are for sure winning, but this isn't some borderline playoff opponent. The Wolves suck.
If the Wolves "suck", what will you say about our roster after tonight?

I'll lose my mind, stand on my table screaming so loud I wake the dead, start hurling feces at the TV and jam needles into my hand.

Either that or my expectations will stay relatively the same; that we're a middle of the lottery team as I've said since July.

Why has every road trip so far been a tribute to their team's members..first Nash, now the Flip game...not easy to go into those type arenas and win one.

Go Blazers! Get back to 500 ball again so I can keep my dignity....I actually like the way the Wolves have played this season. Lot of veteran talent on that bench and a lot of athletic young talent starting

Oscar Meyers needs to show he has some big cojones...he needs to ship them out and slap Garnett on the face, just a heavy sloppy fucking smack...metaphorically that is.

I think every team in the league is going to have their resident bad boy elbow Meyers in the jaw in the first quarter this year. It's like a thing.

If Meyers were to do the same to Garnett, especially if he beats him to the punch, he will be canonized. ;)

Come on Meyers! Watch some Laimbeer video and get with the program!

I f'ing hate Garnett, but I respect what the dude means to the league...

Are they doing the Flip tribute before the game? Is that why CSN is showing player/team profiles right now?

I cant watch CSNW, so go Blazers! keep the thread detailed for me boyz!

I am broke so I can't watch at my normal bar. Looks like tonight is going to be a radio broadcast night. At least it is something. Unless there was some kind of link......................

Not tipping off until 7:28!!!!!!!!!

Cool, we've got Anthony Davis (according to Mike Rice). Meant Ed.
