Who do you think is the most responsible for the Warriors' success in the past couple of years?

I'm not going to lie he does I agree but I think the problem is Harkless can't shoot for shit either so it makes Aminu look worse. One of those position needs to consistently hit for the thing to work

This is true. 2 shooters on the court is not enough in Terry's system against teams who are active on D. Plus the Warriors are so good offensively that it leaves very little room for error.

Not a fan a Aminu's 3 pt shot from anywhere other than the short base line. He is 1-17 in his last 3 games from deep. Like others have said he helps in other areas, but Terry gives them all the green light.......and Aminu takes them. I would start Crabbe. He plays better with CJ and Dame both on the court.

Agreed it's early, but I noticed that too. I hope it's just him finding his role, but so far, it seems like he's been a bad signing. And with that albatross of a contract, it's not like they can trade him easily.

ET played well tonight. He had some bad passes as they all seemed to have against the Warriors always active hands, but he shot well and played better defense that anyone else. He looked good on his post ups as well.

Crabbe, is at the very least, a great shooter. He needs to be shooting a lot more.

He needs Turner and CJ to pass him the ball in order to do that instead of them going iso most of the time.

He does. But we don't. We're not as good with Crabbe starting.

aaww, thanks Sly!

So I just got home from the game (fucking traffic was awful). Here's a couple of observations:

-Leading up to half time, you could tell just by looking at the Blazers that their hearts just weren't in this game. It was subtle. It was the way they walked and carried themselves and, as you saw, it echoed in the way that they played.

-Our Defense in the paint is fucking terrible. No joke. Ezili cannot get better soon enough if you ask me. Perhaps we make a huge trade for Anthony Davis? A couple of firsts along with Meyers and most of the bench besides Crabbe? Or perhaps I'm just being irrational....

-If you don't make shots, you don't win. Not rocket science there. Shoot like shit, and the score will reflect it.

-Dame needs help. He absolutely cannot do this shit alone.

-Give Jake Layman more opportunities. I know he's a rookie playing against 3rd Stringers, but that is good talent to work with and mold.

I was really hoping that we would keep this close and competitive, but I knew at the end of the 2nd Quarter that we weren't going to win this one. It was just the atmosphere of the place.

Eh.....I had fun; no question there. I love spending time with my father no matter what we do. I just wish they would have kept it close. Hopefully, this is a wake up call for Stotts and the organization that they need changes, or more talent.

In other news, I sat next to a drunk dick face who got pissy because I wouldn't let him use my cup holder for his beer. Fuck you, douche. His friend was great though.

Security in that fucking place is ANAL. Jesus Christ. They REALLY control EVERYTHING you do there. They wouldn't let my father stand 4 feet away from his seat to take a picture at a railing. Fucking really?

And the 9 times I bring a pocket knife in with me, you're going to start enforcing a ban on it now? Thanks. I needed the exercise hiking all the fuck the way back to my car.

I was a fan of Layman early. He has a pretty high IQ, and a nice stroke. That being said, let's see what he can do when the outcome is still in doubt, and he's playing against rotation players before we anoint him the next Larry Bird

Who said he was the next Larry Bird? Do you have an actual quote of someone saying that?

I'll wait.

The Blazers looked pretty sharp until Evan Turnover came into the game. The blazers slipped and never recovered. That 2nd unit has been a turnover machine his year. They might be better off playing CJ in the old McMillen Roy iso game. At least he could get a shot up.

I agree, he's better than Larry. If anything, Larry is a poor mans Jake the Snake Layman.

(I am not accepting "Jake The Make" as his nickname! NO!)

Jake the Snake is the default nickname of anyone named Jake though. It's played out and you can think of something better than that.

Since we're talking about a guy who is, as of yet, a bench warmer on the team, I hope you realize I'm not being serious about the nickname thing.

Jake Layman joins Donyell Marshall (11/4/94, MIN at DEN) as the only NBA players to ever make five 3-pointers in their NBA debut.

Wow, that was quick for Dawkins. Game's barely been over 2 hours, and he's already posting highlights. I like it.

Layman Terms needs more minutes. Period.

And if history is any teacher, Stotts won't play him again for another month or until Portland is up by 20 or down by 30.

I'm happy for Layman and i like his shooting form, but i refuse to get hyped, most of those were practice shots.

I wanted us to sign Ian Clark in the summer, I hate the Warriors.
Right now i would probably trade Turner,Crabbe,Meyers,Pat and Tim...:dammit:

Oh, and fuck KD!

Honestly I wasn't sure, "the snake" is the nickname everyone gives a guy named Jake it seems.

That is not exactly true. I am sitting here with the replay on my computer as we speak and ET was not an issue when he first came in. Dame was still running the show at that time with ET, Harkless,Plumlee and Crabbe. It was a few minutes later when GS took control with Dame, ET, Davis, Vonleh, and Crabbe all on the floor. Our bench players all missed their first shots while theirs did not. (Ian Clark came out firing)

Very combative. Start with some decaf. No one said he was Bird. I jusy meant let's calm our jets on him until he gets scouted and plays against real players when the game still matters. Great job last night though.

After watching the game, I can see we definitely need to make a trade. Here's the one I think we should make:

This Year's Aminu + This Year's Harkless
for
Last Year's Aminu + Last Year's Harkless

LYA was stretching the defense, scoring buckets, and his O inspired him to play great D. LYA did overdribble a bit, but I'll live with it! TYA is making some good defensive plays, but is killing us on O.

LYH was outhustling everyone, solidifying our starting lineup. TYH is a borderline NBA player.

You said "we" and larry bird.... ;)

edit: DAMNIT, Nevermind. DAMN YOU HAILBLAZERS! :MARIS61:

How about this: he's Jake The Make only while his FG% stays above 50%; after that we can pick a new one that doesn't involve snakes. (Maybe we call him Bake The Cake?)

Does anyone else feel like Curry's body language so far this season doesn't have the confidence it has had in the past? He seems more serious and less "cocky".

I think you mean the next Meyers Leonard?

Jake Layman is better at basketball than current, 60 year old Larry Bird.

I just read the thread in one take (I slept through the game) and I have many deep thoughts to add.

really looking forward to this game, got a good feeling!

How ya feeling, oh emotive one?

I'm working tonight and can't watch this game or monitor the forum, so I'm leaving this in your hands guys. Don't fuck it up.

Your golf course excuse is getting shady.

I'm curious to see what dirty action draymond pulls out tonight. We do a good job of getting in his head, especially at the moda. Big Ed really gets him goin.

Big Ed really gets his groin. Fixed it! Yuk yuk!
