He made our first 2 baskets of the game. So you're saying he only made 1 since?

Your analogy depends upon comparing the distance in standings between the Cavs and Blazers, to the distance between the Blazers and 76ers. Not uplifting!
Cavs are #1 in East. We were around #10 maybe worse in the lowly West.

I assume it's over? Everyone left. I notice no celebration. No party thread. Should I start it or you? So I have to guess whether we won or lost?

I was going to put up the "plucky" Phil Hartman picture. But we weren't plucky. We were shit.

Moses Malone, Dr J, Charles Barkley....none of those Philly teams beat the Blazers by as much in Philly as what happened tonight.

It's an election year...a no party thread is fine with me!

Told you guys we look better when Meyers is out there. Out of the main rotational guys who played 20+ minutes, Meyers was the only + out there. We need to start him and play him more.
Maybe he would be better starting. He comes in off the bench and seems to be afraid to take his first shot and then probably somebody yells at him from the stands to shoot the damn ball so he rushes his next shot and misses it. Also his ego is so fragile he might need to start to feel confident. I would still try to trade him though once we get him jump-started.

This 6ers team is terrible but I'm hoping the Blazers don't sleep on this one. The 2nd game of a back-to-back, against a team with little talent but a lot of ambition to get some wins, I hope we take this easily and move on to the next game, don't lay an egg here

Eh....about that.....

I didn't account for East Coast Times, so I missed this game until the late 3rd quarter. And when I saw the score, I snorted, waved the game off, and took a shower instead.

What the hell happened here? Was there any one person who was not pulling their weight, or was it just the entire team that sucked balls tonight?

whole team

I was really starting to get jazzed about the idea of making the playoffs since the team was plying so well as of late, but this loss cements what I've been thinking: We're not ready for postseason hoops.

We lose by 15-20 to Utah without Gobert, Favors, Burcs, Exum, etc and now this performance against a Sixers team that has all of four wins this season.

I'm still enjoying the season for what it is, but we need our lottery pick.

The Blazers really do care about each and every fan, tonight they gave a performance just to make Canzano and Jaynes happy.

Yeah, NOW they do. Thanks to beating Portland. Again, the Warriors losing to Detroit isn't the same as Portland losing to Philadelphia.

Detroit is *above* .500, so losing to them isn't comparable.

Everything is in a vacuum with him, don't worry.

Meyers deserves to start because he did well in garbage time with no pressure. LOL. Right.

Well as you can all tell i was about as far off the mark on that game as i think i have ever been......

How many people want to change your vote? HAHA. I voted after the game for the Blazers, but this was the sucker punch in the nuts I didnt see coming. I thought if we won 1 of 3, this would be the one.

As far as Meyers goes. Keep him right where he is. Off the bench and getting quality minutes. He is getting better but he needs more time just like the rest of the team. I do like the fact that he is shooting quicker and realizing he can shoot over a guy 6-4.

My growing and glaring concern honestly is speed. Players don't get quicker they get slower. He is already borderline too slow for the NBA. I say this not referring to his shot, but his foot speed both on O & D. He has never had any type of a first step and his side to side movement is like watching Andre the Giant move. I so desperately wish he would become the Pryzbilla type player we could all love, but he doesn't have that fire to want to make contact either. Its not just one thing, its sooo many things that are starting to open noticeable gaps in his game that I don't think will be repaired.
I think his decision making will improve, which might help the speed of that initial step a tad, but after that he lumbers more like Rolo than moves like Plums. If we could put Plums and Meyers into one body, we would have exactly what we need. a big banger in the middle with a pure outside shot. Think Marc Gasol with even better dribbling skills and faster.
Right now with how the NBa is going and how are team is going, I think we need much more from him defensively and more pounding of the glass on offense...just dont see if progressing...

The Meyers bashing has reached the level of hysteria. He was the team's leading scorer, shot 60% from the field, and was the leading rebounder. Reading this thread you'd think it was his fault the team lost. That honor falls squarely on the shoulders of the starters, not the backups.

Leonard even gets bashed because he continued to play hard, shoot well, and rebound after the Blazers got behind. What kind of bizarro logic is that? WTF? Really.

He played well in garbage time tonight. And the bashing is mostly because of his terrible defense, which you didn't even mention. I also don't think anyone in this thread insinuated that it was his fault the team lost.

MyLo did most of his damage during garbage time.
