Nurkic said he got frustrated watching Melo and Kanter drop and feels like sometimes it's a good thing to be more aggressive but Stotts doesn't want to do it that often.Did you listen to the part about Nurk going rogue in trapping players on D?
Coach Stotts gave a terrible answer. No wonder this team is abysmal on that end of the court
Melo is a HOF player. You don't have him finishing games?

Nurk wants to play to what he thinks is his strengths being quick a feet a creating havoc on the perimeter, which is OK if everyone is in sync. Kanter's strengths are different than Nurks as he is more active with O boards and put backs and has a much nicer touch. Nurk is a better defender and him going rogue is his one of his ways of showing it. I think Nurk knows he must show some differentiation to Kanters game and impact the game differently. They will all get on board. May have to stroke Nurks ego some but they will. And he will listen to Dame. What I took from that wasn't that Nurk was unimpressed with Kanter and Melo dropping, but the he feels comfortable doing his own thing, away from the gamplan the other 4 players on the court are expecting. Stotts did not appear happy with it, but if Nurk is will to do his own thing, that would be the first real sign of lack of respect and Stotts losing his voice with the team.
I don't think players doing their own thing is going to improve the defense, though I understand why Nurk wants to be more aggressive. Hopefully Stotts and him can get on the same page and Nurk can continue to prove he can play defense out at 30ft without fouling or putting his teammates in difficult positions.
Agree that having a player do their own thing is a bad precedent. What I took from that wasn't that Nurk was unimpressed with Kanter and Melo dropping, but the he feels comfortable doing his own thing, away from the gamplan the other 4 players on the court are expecting. exactly what i thought and confirms all our notions of Terry being completely inept in coaching defense.Agree that having a player do their own thing is a bad precedent.
I dont think Nurk was implying anything about Melo / Kanter. I think it's more of a damning indictment of Stotts coaching.
He's too passive on his defensive philosophy, which let's the opposition get any shot they want.
No wonder we frequently hear, 'Well, they hit their shots and we didn't"
Only if he gets 35+ shotsTrent Jr going to drop 30 on us?

I think we should stand pat and give Nas, Simons, Giles more minutes. How else are they supposed to develop? Letting CJ2 get a few min a game wouldn’t be bad either. Blevins shouldn’t be on the roster.
That’s on Stotts, like most of our teams issues. We could have lost Harry in the Bermuda Triangle during this Florida trip and no one would have noticed. Guy's been "DNP-MIA" for weeks.

Nurk will be the one doing the blitzing!Haha, that's funny. Wish he was serious and planned on daring Dame and CJ to hit wide open shots.
I don’t hate any of our contributors, I hate our coach and all of his “philosophies”. It’s not winning basketball. Neither our contributors or bench warmers are being put in a position to be successful. Only the generational talent of Dame has kept us an average to above average basketball team the past 9 years.People hate half our contributors and love the bench warmer. So odd.
I think you missed the point of my post but that’s fine.Don Nelson had good regular seasons too...
It doesn't mean anything. Lol.

As great as Dame is not only as a player and person, his downside is his Defense.Think of all the super stars that are great on offense and defense, and those that are either one or the other.I don’t hate any of our contributors, I hate our coach and all of his “philosophies”. Starting may be up in the air, but it would be unsurprising if they finished games together (Nurk-RoCo-3Gs).If you listened to the interview he didn’t necessarily say they would start
