FTFYif Nurkic would have just committed 2 more fouls, he would have had another 5 X 5 game plus the triple double

Layman is very much like Ginobili in a bunch of ways. Except 3 inches taller.Jake was the 47 pick in the 2nd round. Maybe Neil has found another diamond in the rough?
He has versatility in the game and is very athletic, you can tell with confidence and, no fear, he could end up a really nice contributor come playoff time.
in what way is Layman like Ginobili?Layman is very much like Ginobili in a bunch of ways.
Isnt a lot of that because if they are really good they’ll force there way into the rotation? To Zachs Credit he was good enough on defense he kind of forced his way in to get minutes last year. Guess we’ll find out in the next few years if he pans out or not.
I like your point, but you'd better cut Bird out of that - he was one of the biggest trashtalkers in the history of the NBA.Jake Layman has a style that Tim Duncan, Larry Bird, John Stockton and Kawhi Leonard all had or have in that they talked with their game....they just shut up and dance...they are not trash talking loud mouths ...mouth shut, eyes wide open kind of players are rare in the NBA but usually see the court really well
A lot of players considered him the best trash talker they ever played against.I like your point, but you'd better cut Bird out of that - he was one of the biggest trashtalkers in the history of the NBA.
If Jake gets yanked regardless, why would that make him play harder? If hes not getting rewarded when he does, then theres no incentive. Just seems like you making up something to praise Stotts about which is actually a negative.Stotts knows what he's doing. Layman playing with desperation because he doesn't want to be yanked. He's challenging Jake.
I believe it started last game when Collins fouled out, and was irate on the bench. CJ mockingly tried to calm him down. I think Colllins actually even threw a towel at him. What's the deal with CJ's meditation poses?

in what way is Layman like Ginobili?
Jake just had his first three consecutive game stretch in double figures. And he's scoring but nothing else. Ginobili was an elite playmaker in Europe. He was Harden before Harden.

Try going back and watching Manu play when he was 22-23 years old and get back to me. Some of us followed him before he was in the NBA.in what way is Layman like Ginobili?

He's trying to calm down a super frustrated Zac Collins. What's the deal with CJ's meditation poses?

Like 95% of his fouls are legit. Refs don't give him the benefit of doubt but he hasn't really earned it either. He reaches all the time and is slow footed when helping.I didn't realize Zach was frustrated again. He probably won't get any calls until next year.
I guess i could be a little more specific. Energy! He has much of the same energy. Second leaping ability. Although Manu could be considered better because of size Jake is still very good. Next would be hands. Jake has the ability to catch and direct like Manu did. Passing would be next. Jake has shown the ability to pass very well. Then there is cutting and overall Basketball Intelligence. Manu was crafty and sneaky smart. Jake seems to be that same. Then there is shooting. Jake can shoot the ball.in what way is Layman like Ginobili?

In My Humble Opinion Jake has many of the same qualities. Now will he get the same chances to show them?
Well yes indeed he is 3 inches taller and does play forward so that's a good point.I think the better word is "a few " of the same qualities. I love Jake's potential but they are two entirely different types of players.
Mainly because Manu had such good handles. He was so crafty with his change of speed that he drew so many fouls. Plus he was a great defender and passer.
Manu was more of a combo Guard /SF. Jake is all forward and more of a high flyer IMO
That was kind of where i was going. They do play different positions though. So there is that. Just can't really think of another player that moves without that ball the same way that is a forward?I think Jake compares to Manu in that he is constantly in motion without the ball...energizer bunny energy on the court....he also is quick to exploit in the paint which Manu was famous for....starting his 3rd season I'd say Jake has impressed in a very small sample size..
He wasn't a PF but at SF I'd say Rip Hamilton was a guy who moved really well without the ball..tough coverThat was kind of where i was going. They do play different positions though.
