I still say they should play Nurk and Zach together, Aminu's doing NOTHING for you that Zach couldn't do, and their interior defense should be a lot better.

What is worrisome, is this is more like Playoff type defense or certainly more so than anything else they have seen so far. And they are reacting to it just like they did in the Playoffs last season.

They look very good when everything is free flowing but slow it down a bit and turn up the D and that is not this team's nature to react well. That starts at the top. (Stotts)

I like how Lillard & Nurk are playing. Prolly Harkless too.
Rest of the team though looks like they stayed up way too late last night.

Need to see Nards in the second half.

Wade going for 40 tonight like the old days. Of course back then 30 of it would have been from the line.

getting flat out out-played

they are playing harder, more physical, smarter, and are a hell of a lot more unselfish than we are. with the exception of Dame, this entire team is selfish

It's coaching. This is the same bullshit we've been dealing with now for the past 5 years.

Terry Stotts is the problem.

I dont get Stotts rotation. Layman plays a good couple minutes on both ends of the floor then gets benched and is that it...?
He used to do that with Vonleh all the time and I just dont get it.

Terey has to make adjustments, esp. on defense. The Heat are basically picking and popping or taking it right to the fucking basket..... AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN.

Nurkic got into foul trouble and Collins played like a doofus in his place. Whiteside and Olynyk had their way. We need Ed Davis.

The effort is fine.

Decision making on O is pretty horrendous and I expect the 2nd unit to play better.

Miami is sharp defensively though and getting a throwback game from Wade. Might be too much to overcome.

If we're doing this bad against a .500 team, imagine how bad we'll be against a better Defense.

Yes Miami plays very physical defense, like every Team in the Playoffs, and portland looks lost, not a good sign. And that's the reason Why I can't get excited about this Team

If we get beat by 90 year old Dwayne Wade, that's very concerning.

It's one half of basketball...

I swear you'd think some of you guys haven't watched basketball before with these knee jerk game thread takes.

See you guys once the buzzer sounds...

We don't learn man... You beat physical defense with ball movement, player movement, good screens, and running in transition. For some reason, when teams play physical defense, we get worse at all of those things. We completely shut down (except for Dame).

Blazer guards have had good looks from 3 and just missed them, if they start hitting they can come back.

Stotts' usual advantage is game velocity, but they are faster. Dragic learned the fast break under the faster master, Steve Nash.
