So what is the "perfect way" for them to sell tickets, because it seems like people have complained about just about every method now. Just a combo of all o fthe methods? Might have made it worse, from people online, to phone calls, and in person sales. Would have been a mess. People couldn't get through on the phone, so they complained, couldn't get through online, so they complained, and couldn't wait outside, so they complained.

Unless you are assuming that only 250 people tried to get tickets?
There is no perfect way. But I'd make the people who bought the tickets attend the game. Put their name of the tickets and have ID ready to match the name and the ticket with their party attending as they go through.
I would have been fine if I didn't have to wait an hour plus to find out the event was sold out in my Queue. At ticketmaster, they at least let you know that. also, the thing about people losing tickets in their cart would have pissed me off too.
Are you serious? I'd have to be a complete moron to assume that only 250 tried to get tickets. Probably 5,000+ people tried to get tickets IMO.
You realize how long it would take to get into the RG if they did that? 1-2 hours, maybe more? There is no perfect way. But I'd make the people who bought the tickets attend the game. Yes, that is why I said it was a stupid assumption.
The system didn't work for many people. for more people..it didn't work due to the queue and the shopping cart of death!
What if you buy 4 tickets, and are giving two away to friends? Do you have to know this morning who you are taking? That's not practical, and to ask such a thing is seemingly ignoring how tickets have been transferred, sold, etc. for a long time now. So now the problem is with what scalpers do, and not the TrailBlazers ticket selling. That's a different issue all together.
I do enjoy the fact that all these craigslist postings mention how they're season ticket holders and want to sell them. If you're a season ticket holder, don't you WANT to go to the game after going through the long haul of the season? Seems pretty fishy to me.

I could agree to that.. although it would take FOREVER to get into the arena that way.
Next time, maybe you should set up your online account BEFORE the tix go on sale, so all your info is in and ready to go once the small window of time comes to get the tix.

I can laugh now......the shopping cart of death ate my tickets and belched them up to some scalper. Not fishy - I'm a season ticket holder but I couldn't go to Game 1 (friend's birthday party), so I sold them on CraigsList. (Sure glad I sold Game 1 and went to Game 2!)
Also, it's really expensive to go to a lot of playoff games - if I knew we were likley to advance a round or two, I'd probably pick and choose - sell a few games and go to a few. I didn't add up what it would cost me to go to every game if we made the Finals but it would be many thousands of dollars.
On another note, the Blazers' website sucks, and I have complained to my ticket rep over the course of the season. It's Paul Allen's team, for god's sake, and the ticket forwarding feature is alway crewing up. Plus it's just busy and hard to use.
It takes them an HOUR and 20 minutes to realize that the tickets are gone? That's the thing that pisses me off more than anything.
yeah I hear ya man.. I waited and waited to hear.. sorry... we know you were in line... couldnt tell you no sooner.. but I guess its like camping out and not getting them.
Who thinks this will work out for this guy?

I don't question that some are legitimate, but I still believe some scalpers hide behind them being season ticket holders who can't make it to the game and then sell their tix for 4-5 times the price.
Yeah, that's true. My season ticket rep said he knows some of his "clients" are scalpers just by the way they talk when he calls them to see how they're doing. They don't seem so interested as fans, the way a guy like I am. And I talked to a broker mid-season, asking how they could possibly make money off season tickets - I know I lost money on games I had to sell - and he said scalpers bought up blocks of season tickets prepared to lose money until the playoffs, and the future title runs, when they'd recoup their investment.
Those are the guys clogging craigslist!
We apologize for inconveniences you experienced during our Game 5 online on sale. The system has a time limit, and we experienced unprecedented demand. We're back in an era that the only way to guarantee playoff tickets is to become a season ticket holder. Please click here to join our season ticket holder waiting list:
