• Tuesday marks the second and final regular season matchup between the Trail Blazers and Nets in 2015-16.

• Portland defeated Brooklyn by 12 points (116-104) earlier this season on Jan. 15. In that game, Damian Lillard scored a game-high 33 points (13-24 FG, 5-10 3-PT) and dished out 10 assists.

• The Trail Blazers are 4-1 in their past five contests against the Nets dating back to the start of the 2013-14 season.

• Portland has won six of its past seven home games against Brooklyn (10-2 since 2003-04).

• Damian Lillard has scored in double fi gures in each of his seven career games against the Nets.

This could be a trap game. After coming out victorious in 2 emotional wins, this could easily be a letdown game, especially if the Blazers are looking ahead at the Thursday game against the Rockets, whom they are fighting against in the race for a playoff spot.

Could be, but I really think they're locked in. Ever since the Philly game, they seem to have understood that they can't mail it in against anyone. Dame was talking just yesterday about not being able to look past anybody, specifically in reference to this upcoming game with the lowly Nets.. Travis Demers (afternoon drive on 620am) made the point that the Blazers were supposed to be that not-very-good team that people can't look past, and now they've taken on that mindset of a good team who needs to be on point every night.

As to the poll, I think this is going to be one of those balanced scoring games--7 guys in double figures, and nobody above 22.

This will be an easy win. This team has competed hard every game this year. The Philly game was the second of a back to back during a long road trips. They haven't had hardly any road trips the last two months and have been in Portland since the All-star break. Trap games are when you have a veteran team of big minute starters that need to take it easy. We have so many guys playing under 30 mpg and all with something to prove they leave it on the court every night. We might have a cold shooting stretch in which case the game could be relatively close but other than that it'll be a blowout. The only decent players on Brooklyn are Brook and Thadeus.

Go Blazers!

Joe Johnson has played 1900 minutes this season and is 6'7". He has totalled TWO blocks and ZERO dunks.

Since 2012 Joe Johnson has played over 9908 minutes and has TWO dunks. The guy is done.

He makes $24.9 million this season; which is more than Damian, Meyers, Harkless, Roberts, Vonleh, CJ, Plumlee, Crabbe, Connaughton, Montero and Alexander COMBINED.

Still wish we would have traded for Young. But yes, I agree--should be an easy win.

Man, our backcourt should kill theirs. Their worst 2 players are in the backcourt and our best 2 are.

I cannot understate how much I love looking at the team records at the top of these threads and be reminded that we're a winning team again!

It would be great to jump on the Nets early and be able to really ride the bench tonight.

Don't think they were going to do any trades having a GM on the job less than 24 hours.
Oh, I get that. Perhaps he'll be available this summer though. Marks'll have been on the job 5 months by then--plenty of time to evaluate options.

Yeah I wonder what strategy Sean Marks will come up with. Lopez and Young are their best players. If they had draft picks the obvious move would be to trade them for youth and rebuild. But having zero benefit from tanking who knows.

That entire roster is an overpaid, mismatched mess. The Russian mob boss tried to buy a championship by overpaying guys that were over the hill, but found out that hard way, that's not how it works. He's managed to dump Pierce, Garnett and Deron is Deron, but they still have a $90 million payroll and 14 wins to show for it.

I remember how stupid that was... Boston was laughing all the way... that, to me, was one of the dumbest offseasons for a team I have ever seen.

WTF is up with Sergey Karasev's hair? Is he channeling his inner Trump? It seems counterproductive to deliberately go out of your way to make your real hair look like a bad toupe.

And I hope Chris McCollough gets some extended PT tonight. I look forward to Mike Rice tripping over his own tongue trying to keep McCollum and McCollough straight.

IIRC, the infamous Stephen A. Smith predicted the Brooklyn Nets were an instant championship contender after that off-season.

Quote from ESPN 10/28/13:

"It's all about the dollars. And no one's spending it but Prokhorov. The Russian magnate may have been coaxed by David Stern into quieting down the smack talk, but that doesn't change what he believes:
His Nets are legitimate title contenders. They have a chance to knock off the Heat.
Anything less, in all probability, will be deemed entirely unacceptable.
And Brooklyn wouldn't have it any other way."

On the topic of the Nets failure to be a decent organization post Kidd and Carter years, I really don't understand how a team can be so poorly run. For example, I'm not a GM but I sure as hell would not have dealt a lottery pick for Gerald Wallace, I would never have traded for Joe Johnson, and I certainly would not mortgage my future for a couple aging stars from the previous generation. It's just maddening to see people this incompetent run a professional basketball team.

The funny this is, after he spent a but load of money to bring in all those ridiculously overpriced vets, they won 5 fewer games than the year before.

LOL. No one takes him seriously anymore. He gets paid to talk BS.... WAIT, he's a politician!

OKay. Im alergic to tomatoes, so dont throw any, but Im one of the few that said no. I think he will scored between 24-28 but also have 7+ assists.

I don't think Dame will need to play enough minutes to score 30.
