Actually it IS Lillard’s fault. 7 TO’s is too many. He’s got to clean that up.

you said the same thing in another thread.

Blazers would have never been in a position to win that game if not for Lillard. 33 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals on a .953 TS% trumps the turnovers by about 7 light-years.

Portland lost that game on defense, not on offense. Their offensive rating was 14 points better than their season average. But their defensive rating was 15.5 points worse. That was the game right there

Blaming Lillard for that game is absolutely ridiculous man... Can't believe some people are seriously blaming him.

Well i didn't miss it. I just don't agree with the argument. IMO a coach is a coach.
Wow, really? From someone who claims to be more knowledgeable than us regular fans you don't think there is a difference between making adjustments in the playoffs and a game in November?

I'm so sick of the it's just one game excuse. If you were entertained fine, but it's a long pattern of blunders.

Don't guard the best shooter in the NBA game 1 of the WCF, it's just one game.

Blow a huge lead in Game 2, it's just one game.

Blow a huge lead in Game 3, it's just one game.

Blow a huge lead in game 4, it's just one game.

Blow a big lead in SA, it's just one game.

Blow a big lead against Philly, it's just one game.

NBA is a game of runs! That's 6 out of the last 10 games we've blown close to or over a 20 point lead. We play not to lose when we get up.

I'm tweeting this, don't hate me:)

Woah there turbo.... Please go find a quote of me claiming to be more knowledgeable than ANY other fan? I'll anxiously await your reply.
Dude i even sign most of my statements with
Kjironman is a fan!!!
The very purpose of that has a huge history. With your longevity in Blazer forums you most certainly know the story so i'll save the effort.

Nobody blaming him there saying he 7 turnovers and 2 down the stretch. Yes 7 turnovers are to many for anyone not just Dame. Besides that Dame play solid game and shot really well.

Seeding in the West is going to be crazy again this year. Giving away a game like this is could very well be the difference between making the playoffs or not considering injuries.

The Blazers would be tied for 4th if they finished off the 76ers. Instead they are tied for 9th and on the outside looking in. I know it's silly to look at playoff standings now but a few games has been the difference in the West the last two seasons between home court advantage and having to face a tough team on the road or not making it at all. Can't give away wins.

You know what makes this place easy to stay away??

too many people are too extreme. People cant stand others who complain about Stotts and then many others think only in unicorns and rainbows and cant handle any criticism of play or coaching.

Would those of you who fit this mold, please ease up aNd compromise more to make this place great again?

Sooo tired of reading the same things over aNd over and over......

same people bitching aNd the same people bitching about the bitching......without either side giving an inch

sigh....

Did we watch the same game? Hezonja was the leading rebounder with 12 and hit some big threes. I like him a lot. Could be a key player for us this year.

He rebounded well that game and as a Blazer in general so far, but he's way over his head there, so I don't expect that to continue. His interior defense was garbage. He was routinely stripped twice at the rim. He's an inefficient scorer (42% FG% and 32% from 3). Not good offensively. Not good defensively. Career BPM of -2.9. It wan't just him though - our defense was atrocious all around. How often is Dame gonna be that lights-out and how often are we gonna shoot 57% on volume 3's? Yet we still lost.

I'm not sure what you were watching. His defense was quite good guarding Simmons all night, especially in the post. 18 points on 16 shots is CJ like efficiency.

You're asking a guy who is a point forward to be our lone rim protector. He was really good on Simmons but he can't be Nurk out there.

Most his points came in the 1st half he really non factor in the 2nd half.

Well, if we gave away one at home, we also stole one on the road in Dallas so we are even in the bank for giveaways and takeaways. Would you feel better if we had lost at Dallas and won at home against Philly?

Well, if you're gonna use that logic then we should've won the Spurs game considering we were up 20+ so it's back to we should be 4-2.

Key words, home and away. Trust me, there will be games we lose we should have won and games we win we should have lost. Same as all the teams in the league.

Thanks, I didn't know any of that and now feel very informed.

5 out of the last 10 games the Blazers have blown a 20+ point lead or close to it.

Find a new team then and lay off the snarky responses.

STOP TELLING OTHER PEOPLE HOW TO BE A FAN!!!!!!!!!!

sorry. this should have been in the salty Sunday thread.

Really though. Just stop. Let people complain if they want. Let people fantasize about rainbows and unicorns if they want.

Just STOP telling each other how to be a fan.

It is okay to have a loss and find some positives in it.

Its also okay to find keys to improvement to avoid so many losses.

WTF is wrong with people discussing these things without telling each other how NOT to be a fan or how TO be a fan?

Yeah, i'm on my high horse right now, and my life has been really busy, but it sure does make things easier to know i'm missing some read and to know the read is wasted time about people bickering about who is a good fan and who isn't.

Make me miss the read more, people. Please?

I'm not trying to be confrontational, but I don't think I have ever seen or heard that.
Well i did read that he is his own worst critic. I have absolutely no way to confirm that. But it usually is the case with successful people.

I have never seen him publicly take responsibility for a mistake. I have never seen a Blazer player say that their coach took responsibility for a mistake. I don't think I have ever heard him say that he wished he had done something differently. Maybe I missed it though?
