This team matches up better with Memphis .......they are harder to defend. Essentially we have two PG's in the game so they couldn't trap as well, our wings attacked the basket more when they tried, and our bigs are more athletic. Memphis the last two years would play tough D on LA, trap Lillard and stay up on the 3 pt shooters. I know they might kill us there, but hell they used to keep us under 90

Seriously? Huh. Alright...
Yes seriously. Have you ever heard of a player-coach? Kaman has a great BBIQ, and has been around the game long enough to learn all the tricks. This is a dude who had his balls squeezed because he couldn't be stopped. Don't be fooled because he isn't in his prime anymore. The dude knows how to play on the offensive end and you would be hard pressed to find another player like Kaman who can both Coach the young guys, and fill in limited minutes should the need arise... I'd go as far as to say you won't find a better guy for the specific role he fills in the NBA right now.

Juwan Howard was one of the best player coaches in the NBA. He ended up in Miami and was huge in them winning a few rings while developing some younger not so big name front court guys. Juwan is still in Miami as a full time coach these days. I'd love to have Kaman here full time in a role just like that. I might actually put money on that happening, knowing his relationship with Olshey and the fact that hes basically a step away from that role right now.

Gasol on this blazer team would actually be money. Gives you a low post scorer but doesn't hog the ball and is a great passer. He can play forever with his game. Requires almost zero athleticism.

Funny, because when I look and see him covered head to belly with bandages on the bench, I'm not too stoked on the downward slope of Gasol.

Poor rebounder.

One thing I'd like to see is the team make more of an effort to get plumlee involved offensively. I see no reason why he can't develop into a legit low post scorer. He has good feet, can jump, a strong lower base, and a pretty good hook shot. Also has the court vision to handle extra responsibility.

Memphis has looked dead in the water before and bounced back. They have the talent, I see no reason why they won't again

But seriously, what position do you really want to target to upgrade?

I really like the guys that we have.

Let's bring in Derrick Rose to be the super sixth man. We'd have the best guard rotation in the league and Rose would be less likely to get hurt playing less on the bench.

Size on the bench; we have a slightly undersized Davis, but Kaman has forgotten what to do with the round orange thingy, and our starting bigs foul quite a bit. I'd love one more BIG big.

If I was Memphis, I would completely blow it up. I'd trade Conley, Gasol, and Randolph. They could probably still get something good for those guys. Conley is a really solid point guard and Gasol is one of the best centers in the game. Randolph could be a nice addition to a playoff team like OKC or Toronto.
I don't really know if I'd do that 6 games into the season with key players still under contract for lengthy periods of time.
But it's clear Memphis needs to do something.

Huh, I had no idea. TBH, I didn't even know who Kaman was until he came here. And when I watched him play, I was not that impressed; though my father spoke highly of him (he's a life-long GS fan). So I guess that tells you what I know.

Alright, if he's that important, keep him. I certainly won't object if he's coaching up our bigs. But Meyers needs to bulk up. I'm tired of guys like Randolf pushing him around. LMA gained 41 lbs of muscle just because of that. Leonard should take the hint.
