What he us saying is Vas is a lot like Marty Brodieur in that he is blessed with a solid team in front of him. The last four games he didn't need to stand on his head to win games.

Exactly he barely had to do shit the last four games he’s had a lot of those games the past three years in the playoffs. Hopefully we can build a team like that

Sometimes in here we go down ridiculous bunny trails. Now the argument is the guy who is universally viewed as the best goalie in hockey, has amazing numbers overall, and especially in clinching games, isn't really anything special. Oh and let's throw Brodeur in there also. The homerism is funny sometimes.

Because he wasn't overworked this series the previous years and playoff series don't count lol.

You can honestly say that you watched these last 4 games and had moments saying to your self...
..omg what a tremendous save...this guy robbed us...all world goalie..

No..I'm not taking anything away from him but outside of the power play goals he didn't have much to do.

Watch what Vasilevskiy does when age finally catches Hedman and McDonagh. Hedman is 30, McDonagh is 32.
I have a pretty good idea....he'll be admiring his 2 (potentially 3+) Stanley Cup rings, multiple Vezina Trophy wins and not giving a fuck that his best days may be behind him.

The question isn't was Vas asked to be great and stand on his head against the Rangers. The question is overall is Vas great, and has he been the best goalie in the world, and especially best big game goalie in the world, the past few years. Of course the answer to those questions is yes. Everyone knows it and has said it, except in here.

You have turned it into did he have to make a ton of great saves, get tested often, and stand on his head against the Rangers. Not sure what that has to do with anything Al. This is overall, you are talking one series against us - where mind you he did get it done.

We didn't test him near enough in games 3-6 in this series. His numbers were great in those games, and bottom line is he got the job done for sure, but that comes with the comment he didn't get tested much at all. For what it is worth, we agree there.

I don't care what the fuck he admires when his defense slips. I care about our team defense getting stronger. If you want to suck the cock of a goalie who is barely tested in most of his playoff games, go ahead.

Two Stanley Cup Championships is what matters. Period. Bottom line. Possibly on his way to a third. Don't pretend like you aren't seething with jealousy of that franchise like the rest of us.
