Of the following Blazers, who is the worst defender?

I think they should have gone to Meyers earlier. Just for the fact he sets good screens and Adams has to stay out with him which would have opened up the lane for Dame's drives.
Meyers > Kanter

These Olshey pick ups have not worked so far. Early on I thought they were good for 1-2 PO wins. Now I'm not so sure.

OKC had lost 5 of 6 coming in? Home court game?

This team as coached just doesn't seem set up for big game success in Playoff type games.

You're such a great poster.
I wish everyone was like you and left out facts like PG missing 3 of those 6 games.

So they can go back and give Nurk a tech for barely impending Westbrook but they won’t go back and look at a blatant elbow to the head. I’m just still in utter shock about that.
Also our shit selection once we got down was really not great.

Blazers have got to stop depending on the refs.

I'll try and find clips showcasing his defense it's just hard when pretty much the only footage I have is offensive highlight packages.

I honestly think he did a really good job rotating and didnt get help on his guy who he had to leave to stop the dribble drive.
abdul nader made a straight line drive at him as if he wasnt there to score easily.

who the hell is abdul nader?

Like honestly I'm so fucking baffled at the fact that someone could have thought Kanter played GOOD (Good???!) defense that game. Like, at BEST you can make the argument that he was acceptable on one or two possessions. That's it.

I'm sure if you go back and count the number of layup and FT attempts while Kanter was in the game from the play-by-play that will tell you the whole fucking story.

Kanter isn't facing the Nets. He's facing the West. If he averages 8 PPG out here, I'll be surprised.

Really? It’s not like they’ve dominated. Games have been winnable.

Every game is winnable....but you have a result. OKC, after losing 5 of 6 coming in, finished off a sweep of the Blazers. It sucks. Hope they do better.....but 'hope' isn't a great thing to build on when you have these types of results over and over in the West. Now 20-21.

God the playoffs is going to be sad. I really like these guys but you can tell the end is near

Man, that was tough to watch. Kanter, Chief letting easy layups bounce of their hands in OT was ugly.
Yeah the Aminu fumble was bad. Dame went hard and drew the defender but Aminu flat out dropped the ball. Kanter fumbled one pretty bad also. Hood missed an open look for three off a drive and Chief missed his open look from three also. All in OT.

Kind of seemed to me like Dame showed up to play but they did not get that second player to step up. Overtime did get some good looks but they didn't fall. Noticed Dame was looking for the drive and dish but a couple shots didn't fall for the shooters and he went away from it for hero ball. It was not good at all losing Nurk for OT. Might have cost them the game. Stotts had little else to do other than go to Kanter but i always wonder if Collins would bring a better look at times?
I think they just needed to move the ball and move without the ball. Also needed to try to get looks in transition. They were just letting the OKC defense set up and then trying to run pick n roll down their throats. That as the only look isnt gonna work against a good defensive team, and we saw that in the postseason last year. Sure, we couldve hit contested shots to bail it out but it just didnt seem like the best way to run our offense down the stretch.

No they haven’t. Chill man, OKC don’t get extra points in playoffs for these 4 losses.

These Blazers are young. OKC is in their heads. Has their number. It counts

I like Hood as a player. I feel like he has a lot to offer.

He's drifting worse than broken down Batum at this point.

he said he'll make a video. let's see what he finds. im sure he wasn't watching this game

who the hell is abdul nader?

Nobody

This was not Stotts fault he may have his flaws but did Stotts drop a ball out of bounds when Dame gave him a gift ? ( Aminu ) -- Did Stotts headbutt PG and get thrown out of the game ? ( Nurk ) -- NO --- there were other things but stop putting it all on Stotts. This game was not Stotts fault this was a few bad bounces ( plays ) that did not go the Blazers way and a few stupid things that the Blazers did like the examples i pointed out that cost the Blazers this game.

Also did not help Westbrook was still in the game when he should have been in the back BUT still the Blazers had chances and missed them and again not all on Stotts.

And why the hell did he have a straight line drive?

Yes, there was a couple instances where he couldve done a better job of stopping straight line drives, but they shouldnt have straight line drives to begin with. He also did a good job on multiple possessions stopping straight line drives.

I feel like people cant get past his reputation and judge him fairly. He hasnt been good before tonight, but he defended well tonight.

I think with hood, they need to get him the ball on the post and let him get in the flow. When he just stands out at the line he does not bring much. Post him up get him the ball on the wing. Let him go. Force the other team to guard him.

We don’t depend on the refs otherwise we would win 5 games a year. I’m not upset by some ticky tack foul that cost us, it was a hard elbow to the head and it was ignored. Don’t care if they review it and say it’s fine it’s the fact it was ignored and it being ignored directly led to nurk getting tossed.
