Of the following Blazers, who is the worst defender?

We NEED to prioritise Nurkic over CJ. I do not care how it happens, be it trade, change of coach, or our current coach using some actual common sense, but Nurkic 100% has to be our second option without question. If he is not scoring, he needs the ball in his hands making plays for others. If I had it my way CJ would never again take more shots than Nurkic, save for the games CJ gets red hot and we just feed him.

I think we shouldve dug a little more off the ball, and Aminu shouldve directed him towards digging help side. Make him kick the ball to have other guys hit jumpers instead of letting him get downhill and fouling.

The easiest way to defend Paul George is to goad scowl face into shooting then go get the rebound.

Was that Collins shit true? I expect him to be a monster and I’m not dealing with an O’Neal 2.0 situation. He better be starting over Chief Day 1 next season.

Unless he’s headed to Det in a Blake deal, if that’s the case he can pound sand.

I doubt it’s true.

Aminu will be gone next season

If I cared enough I'd go bump some Nurk sucks threads earlier in the season.
These same threads where people claimed Nurk was the issue when our guards were giving up straight line drives because they were cheating the screen or just dying on it.
These same people who claimed Collins > Nurk because Nurk is too slow of foot and Collins is better at defending 2 on 1.

Now that our guards are actually fighting to re-attach to their man Nurk looks better instead of being asked to play 2 on 1 in the paint against the lob threat, and the runner/layup threat.

Tonight Kanter had multiple, multiple times where our second unit guards/wings died on the pick or gave up a straight line drive. Meaning a poor-er defender in Kanter was left to play 2 on 1 against Westbrick/Schrouder/PG13.
Shocking that a poor-er defender couldn't accomplish that when Nurk. (Who no one on this board would call a poor defender anymore.) Struggled with the exact same shit early in the season.

Now I think Kanter was worse tonight than Nards could've been offensively tonight and I would've played Nards just to keep Adams from helping on defense.
But at the end of the day while Kanter had a couple defensively lapses. Kanter is not to blame for the guards cheating and getting beat giving up a straight line drive. Nor is he to blame for guards dying on the pick.
Exactly.

it just doesn't seem believable. Even though he's been benched he looks engaged with the game action as a teammate of those playing. It would be quite a stretch for a 21 year old 2nd year player who wasn't a starter in college to be demanding a trade 18 months into his NBA career

C. J. 45 mins. 0 assists. Didn't he try to get a triple double when Dame did not play? When Dame plays, he doesn't want triple doubles anymore?
He took 3 times as many shots as Nurk. 8 times as many shots as Jake.

This is the most important game of the season so far, in my opinion. This will tell us if the Blazers are potential contenders or just first-round fodder. The team just came off a very successful road trip that ended with a bad taste. If they are truly ready to make some noise in the Western playoff race, they'll put the Memphis loss behind them and mop the floor with the Thunder. OKC has lost 6 of their last 8, and Paul George's shoulder injury is a big part of that, but they were on the skids before he left. That being said, their record is still no joke and a win against them at this point of the season would be huge for playoff seeding. Looking past the Thunder, the Blazers have some very winnable games and could possibly not lose again until San Antonio on the 16th. If they can beat the Spurs, they have a real possibility of running the table until the Denver back-to-back, but history says they'll probably drop 2 or 3 games they SHOULD win.

Contender: the Blazers win tonight in a blowout.
Pretender: the Blazers lose by high single digits and fingers are being pointed in the post game.

Source MSN Sports: "George appeared to elbow Nurkic, who was knocked to the floor as Terrance Ferguson made a layup that put the Thunder up 113-111. Portland players protested, but no call was made."-It's called blind refereeing .

Again i watched a game that was very entertaining. A series between these teams would be a blast to watch. Very sure there would be multiple ejections before the series was done.
Same thing with the Warriors. Problem with the Warriors is an ejection doesn't hurt them enough and Green always seems to get the benefit of the doubt. If the Thunder lose either PG or Westbrook they would look like the Blazers without Nurk.

If Nurk had of elbowed PG13 in the head in that same manner he wouldve been tossed. If he wouldve ran from behind and side checked westbrook, he wouldve been tossed.

I get it Dame is probably allowed more leniancy because he’s a star as well.

Just complete nonsense being allowed in that game. I know someones going to say Im blaming the loss on the refs I’m not.

I just go back to it in almost all close games win or lose its shameful how inconsistent and downright BAD the nba refs are at times.

Though yeah Westbrook shouldve been tossed from that game, its a dangerous play to purposefully blind side a guy in mid jog...

That was the game

Tell you what, I am damn depressed today. Dame pretty much gave a superhuman effort and where was help? Kanter: missing around the rim
Aminu: shooting a three with 135 to go
Curry: MIA
Moe: we got the old Moe today
Hood: average
Cj: black hole

I honestly feel like that was the game of the year for them...
Between that and losing to Memphis. They probably lost out on any chance of HCA.
It was funny to me that Kenny Smith and Barkley were talking about them going to the Finals because the shots are so much easier for Dame and CJ, it looked like the same team out there to me. Dame and CJ having to work really hard just to get a shot up.

The NBA disgusts me

Also past his first game has Kanter really played better than Collins ? lol

Even when he gets Offensive rebounds he's getting stripped every fucking time

It's a heartbreaker. I'd like to say its all the refs. It's not. The Blazers didn't make their free throws. They turned the ball over. Most of the players didn't show up. They allowed the Thunder to get into their heads. In these intense playoff like games against the best teams they don't play with a winners mentality. They allow themselves to be victims of circumstance. They have to be better than this. I hope this puts the chip back on their shoulders. I hope it's an eye opener.

No, I think a series against them would break my heart. Sly asked why we weren't enjoying the game; for me it's because they are either a better team or tougher team and I didn't expect a good ending.
