Would you rather have the 6th/7th Seed than the 5th, since it means we won't face GS in the 2nd Rd?

So we have HCP impersonating McCollum eh? Well i can enjoy that as we have had bonesjones impersonating Dan Morang in this forum. One chose a talented NBA player and the other chose a Blazer insider. Zing pop bam!!!

J/k :bgrin:
Why would I impersonate him?! Damn!

Last night was another reason I've never been in favor of trading CJ. There just aren't many guys like that out there. He can have an offensive explosion at any time.

McCollum DOES NOT have a max contract and neither does Lillard.

Learn your Blazers son
Doesnt Dame have a Max contract for the year he signed it? The “max” keeps going up, but I thought he was at or near it when they signed him a few years ago.

His contract is tied to the cap, but he left some money on the table. Off the top of my head i believe he could have been 30% of the cap and he took either 25% or 27.5% depending on who you read.

He does. He got the max when he extended. Even hit the Rose rule checkmarks and got more because he made All NBA. AD didn't even get it from his draft class.

Cup got this one right. He did hit the Rose rule checkmarks as yuyuza said, but rather than taking a contract starting at 30% of the cap, he only took 27.5%. So more than the normal 5th-year-player max, but less than his personal max.

It's semantics. A 5yr 140 mil vs 5yr ~145 deal. Hardly meaningful. The key contract thing that we need to recount with Dame is his 5th yr not being a player option.

I'm sure it was answered in the thread but I don't want to read through it all (and I didn't listen to the game, only had a chance to listen to some of the highlights), but where was Brian Wheeler?

It's not semantics it's a fact. It's not a max contract.

after all the talk about the genius of Doc Rivers, he sure took a damn long time to respond to CJ going nuclear in the 4th. He stayed with his base defense and didn't even change defensive assignments until CJ had aleady scored 18 points in the Q. Then he put Beverly on CJ and Beverly immediately fouled CJ on a three. You'd think a genius coach would have adjusted sooner

If you say so. I've never seen him call people "sir" on Twitter as was done in several of those posts; doesn't seem likely that he'd reserve that mannerism for interacting with random message board peeps.

And @ThePosterFormerlyKnownAsTheHCP doesn't have a clue what naysayers means. He thinks it means a talking horse.

So we have a player averaging the following numbers since the all star break and is probably the most criticized Blazer player on this board.

24ppg
4.3 rpg
3.5apg
1.7 apg
49% from the field
40% from the 3

I'd say those are some pretty awesome numbers.

And 0 dunks.

If he was in the East...All Star more than likely..

Don't undersell him--he's actually shooting 46% from 3 since the all-star break.

I could also point out, however, that while his overall production has taken an uptick, so has his inconsistency.

There are a few different ways to calculate volatility of performance, and by any measure, his performance since the all-star break has been much more up-and-down than it had been prior. Even using the larger standard deviation generated by looking only at his post-all-star game-logs, his variances from the mean are huge in comparison.
