Flagrant 2 is bullshit, 1 at most.

Does this mean we'll get a K-Man sighting?

I don't think that was even a flagrant, let a lone a flagrant 2 ejection...what the fuck?!?!?!??!

If there's any game to do that... do taht when we were up 20+, and that guy tried to elbow dame in the ribs... send a message. I like it.

plum showing leonard whose boss on rebounds

flagarnt 2 on leonard!

We've seen guys throw deliberate elbows to the head and pull our guys to the ground and not get flagrant 2s. This was more like a hard foul, maybe a flagrant 1.

Damian Lillard is the first Trail Blazers guard to record 15 double-doubles in a season since Rod Strickland in 1995-96 (33).

Portland now has 700 3-pointers this season (12 tonight), third-most in the NBA (Golden State, Houston).

The problem is you can't play Plums, and Biebs together, cause they can't guard the 4. You can't play Pums and Ed together, cause they can't shoot.

So you're left with Benching Plums, and starting Ed, and Biebs; or starting Plums, and Aminu at the 4. Can Aminu hold his own with opposition starting 4's? Depends on the match-up I suppose.

Yeah I think you go Aminu at the 4. Although maybe if we play OKC you could start Meyers because Ibaka isn't likely to burn him with foot speed. No way Meyers can guard Griffin, Draymond or Aldridge.

It was a fun ride of starting the 20 year old but it will be silly if he's putting up these 0fers and we lose a playoff game by 1 point or something.

Jesus, we must be the team with the most "jump up and then go 'OH NO' and pass it off" team ever. At least 10 that I can think of tonight.

I have a legit question. I only reffed for a couple years, and only for small time stuff. (Now baseball I umpired for years and did a ton of leagues..) anyway, how do you ask this so quickly in your head, and in enough time to make a timely call... or are these why we see the late whistles?

Okay so this has multiple levels. Let me explain:

First, there are three parts to every play:
  • Start, develop, finish.
  • You have to have what's called a patient whistle. Every single time you blow your whistle it should be during the Finish of play.
Second, a cardinal rule of refereeing is what's called "refereeing the defense first".
  • While keeping an "Open look" (looking through the players from the side). You're looking to see that the defender maintains their "Legal Guarding Position" (LGP).
  • A player may be moving. They do not need to be "set" (very common misconception).
If you see the defender is maintaining that LGP (a legal defender is something you're constantly looking for), and that the offense goes to AND through the defender (displaces the defender from his legally obtained position) it is an offensive foul.

So the key is to referee the defense first and observe that they are maintaining their legal guardian position.

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks!!!
