After a brief slow start, they looked pretty.

Regardless how far we may or may not go......I don't think anyone will disagree they have looked much better in the last 12 or so games. Offense and Defense.
They are a lot more fun to watch.

That third quarter forcefeeding of Nurk on the P&R turned this game into a blowout even if it wasn't reflected in the +/-

it broke their back

Too bad we won't remember what worked for us for the next 5 games or so.

The Blazers easily dispose of the Spurs and have now won 7 of their last 8 games. The Blazers Uprise Postgame Show has you covered to talk about the game and the final week of the season!

Who are these guys? Seems like a pretty tough crowd?

Why is the defense better now?
  • Nurk really does make a significant difference?
  • Major scheme changes?
  • Far worse competition?

One thing is we're definitely taking better angles guarding the pick and roll. That leads to fewer needs for help which leads to fewer wide-open 3s when we do help.

Another thing is our offense and tempo. We've been wearing teams out, forcing them to get up and down the court and to try to match us offensively. Opposing teams get caught up in our style, take bad shots, we get control of the tempo.

Postgame Notes – May 8, 2021
Portland 124, San Antonio 102
Game No. 68, Home Game No. 34

TEAM
• Portland outrebounded San Antonio 63-40 on the night, which included a 18-7 advantage on the offensive glass. Portland’s 63 rebounds were a season-high, marking the first time the team has eclipsed 60 boards this season.
• That offensive rebounding advantage led to Portland outscoring San Antonio 26-11 in second-chance points.
• The Trail Blazers handed out 24 assists to 17 dimes for the Spurs. Portland has now registered at least 20 assists in 12 consecutive games, one of seven such streaks of at least 12 games by a Trail Blazer team in the last 20 years (since 2001-02).
• Portland outscored San Antonio in all four quarters, and entered halftime with a 10-point advantage. The Trail Blazers improved to 14-0 when securing a double-digit halftime lead.

PLAYER
• Damian Lillard led Portland with 30 points (8-17 FG, 4-9 3-PT, 10-10 FT), four rebounds and eight assists. It was his fourth consecutive game with 30+ points, and 32nd such game of the season.
• CJ McCollum added 27 points (10-21 FG, 4-9 3-PT, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. It was his fourth game scoring at least 20 points in his last five outings.
• Norman Powell finished with 18 points (6-13 FG, 2-5 3-PT, 4-4 FT), six rebounds and one assist. Powell scored 11 of his 18 points came in the fourth quarter (3-5 FG, 1-2 3-PT, 4-4 FT), good for his second-highest scoring quarter as a Trail Blazer (12 points, April 3 vs. OKC, third quarter).
• Jusuf Nurkic had 17 points (8-15 FG, 1-4 FT), nine rebounds, five assists and one block. It was his third game of the season with at least 15 points and five assists.
• Robert Covington recorded three points (1-4 3-PT), 11 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block. It was the 11th time this season he’s recorded double-digit boards.
• Anfernee Simons finished with nine points (3-8 FG, 1-4 3-PT, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and one block in 27 minutes off the bench.
• Enes Kanter had four points (1-5 FG, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds and two assists.
• DeMar DeRozan led San Antonio with 20 points (6-15 FG, 8-8 FT), two rebounds, four assists and two steals. It was his fourth consecutive game scoring at least 20 points against the Trail Blazers.
• Lonnie Walker lV added 18 points (7-14 FG, 4-6 3-PT), to go with a season-high eight points and one assist.

I agree with both of these things!

128 posts? Damn, but we won.

Tried to tell you last game big bro. I think ppl just ready for some changes and don’t really have any interest till that happens unfortunately. Plus we all know in the playoffs the same thing will happen..

Team really looking good! Still a few kinks to iron out but the effort, ball movement, communication all seems to be at another level now.
Are we truly starting to peak at the right time??

Could this turn into a magical post season????

really like starting five shot distribution and this is how it should be always, keep nurk & powell involved with 10-15 shot attempts per game

so much scoring potential with dame, cj mccollum, nurk & powell, theyre so dangerous and can score in multiple ways, so play inside-out and go away from perimeter heavy bball

Good thrashing of a not-very-good Spurs team. Another win or two and they are out of the Play-In worries. They need to get to #5 or whatever it takes to get Denver instead of the Clippers.

I think it goes to show that even POP is average with average players. Its a players league and if you're fortunate to have multi all/super stars you can easily be above average and possibly be a contender. Players have made coaches who they are one way or the other.

Projecting much?

I'm usually negative about the blazers in my youtube promos?

If you feel my original statement about your promos was false, feel free to correct me. Also, there is nothing wrong with making tag lines that cater to your base audience, that's good business on your part.

CJ should not be shooting that much compared to the others. In the last 4 games he has 78 points on 72 shots...too much MeJ in his game lately

Here is the Twitter feed for the post game threads. I'd like to know where all this negativity thrown in most of the posts is that you speak of?
