More like 28 but still he took the shot. If it goes in he is a hero.35 footer? Jeez get outta here with that shit
At this point I'd be okay with falling to the 8th seed because I really don't want to see them get swept by the douchebag Spurs or Thunder.
This....we should have won it at the free throw line in regulation...didn't need a 3pt shot..just one free throw and we win..Dirk had 5 fouls, Mathews had 4..drive on them and put up a shot and we more than likely winit's stupid we didn't win it in regulation.
i'm not even sure if Stotts is writing a play, it almost seems like he just tells DAme to go do something.
Stotts cost us this game in OT. I hold him responsible for this loss. As I do many other games this year.
He needs to go.
They could still do very well in the end. They have quite the homestand. They will get lots of practice and that is where you see improvements on defense.we'v completely overachieved this year, its been fun to watch. We went on a winning streak pretty much because Lillard decided to go apeshit, when he has an off night we have a hard time competing.

Well you can look at this a bunch of ways. If Aminu just hits one of those 3s late, Blazers win. If Williams doesn't bank in that 3, Blazers win. If Dame takes a better shot at the end of regulation, Blazers win. To say that they just don't have to talent to compete with a team like that when they would've won if just one thing went differently is a bit overboard. Plus you're on the road, where it's tough to win in the first place.

who is dirk nowitzki? They were playing a Mavs team without their best player.
8 on 5.They were playing a Mavs team without their best player.
No need for it. Should've attacked, yes. But it wasn't that bad of a shot..jeez take exaggeration poorly?

Why is Lillard okay with his end-of-game 28 foot attempts that he hits at a 5% rate? He can get around just about anyone. Instead, he allows Deron fucking Williams to play lock-down defense on him because Deron Williams knows exactly what Lillard is going to do... try and hit the deep highlight 3.
Better yet, why is Stotts okay with this? We had 13 seconds left. We had time for penetration and an offensive rebound or a kickout to a wide open shot. Or a foul and free throws. Instead, we get to watch Lillard brick an off-balance shot and Mike&Mike get to lie to us and tel us how Lillard ALMOST hit it.
Yeah Stotts has got to come up with a better shot with 13.5 seconds out of a timeout.
a bit harsh..Dame deserves to make the final call...but when his judgement is in question, yes Stotts needs to tell him to pass when he is shooting 7 for twenty two
At this point we might not make it at all, and I'm okay with that.
This year it hasnt' been great but he is also 12th in the league in % at that time, and its a down year for him in that regard. Your making it sounds like it was a god awful shot but he got a nice shot off, just go rewatch it, it was on point and barely missed. You can say "we should work harder to get a different shot" and I wont argue with you about that but you make it was the very worst thing that could have happened.http://www.nbaminer.com/clutch-time-stats/
Assuming this is pulling from stats.nba.com correctly, Lillard is a 25% shooter in the clutch from 3 pt range...
That's atrocious. And to think Stotts play-call out of a time out has repeatedly been the Lillard iso to the point where Deron Williams can play A+ defense on him? Terrible.
Made no sense to me.Dirk wouldn't have had 40 if Stotts didn't put guards on him all night
The problem is, we have the replace or upgrade on mediocre talent that won't improve much over the rest of their careers. Specifically Aminu and Plumlee (who's a good bench big). We can't bank on Aminu becoming an average starter or Plumlee becoming a rim protector.I just hope we don't pull a PHX and make a bunch of questionable moves to try and get better next year, this team still has a lot of growing to do and playoffs this year is cool but we need to realize that its best to wait another year and miss in FA then overspend on mediocre talent that doesnt' lineup with our team or clashes with our best players.
I'm just not okay with rushing it, if we can get a guy thats a good upgrade and isn't a horrible overpay sure then do it, but a horrible decision would be something like "we made the playoffs now spend tons of money to try and get past to the secound round " like paying Dwigh 120m. I'd rather bring in some bargains and maybe one big FA in Lillards window then talking ourselves into some big idea that we can take a big step next year and challenge the Spurs/GSW and end up giving DWight or Al Horford 120m when they dont' lineup with the rest of the team. The problem is, we have the replace or upgrade on mediocre talent that won't improve much over the rest of their careers.
