I tend to agree with this. The Blazers will beat this team if they meet in the playoffs. Will win in five if we meet him in the playoffs

I don't hate RoCo. I hate our inbound play which was clearly designed to get RoCo the ball. Melo was looking for the moment RoCo popped off the second screen.
Try to get the ball to Dame first at least. Jesus christ.
That's what discourages me. The team is doing a lot of good things lately but I know that at the crucial moments our coach will let us down.I think people don't look at the bigger picture. In some ways sure, there should be encouragement, they are fighting there asses off to make a playoff push. This is the same encouragement we saw in the bubble last year and in plenty of other years until we inevitably get laid out in the first round because the man running the show, Stotts, is still our coach and he still has no clue how to do much of anything. Every year its relying on heroics from Dame and to a lesser extent CJ.
I was pissed but then I remember this just gets us one step closer to the firing of Stotts and now I don’t care anymore.
He passed to an 83% shooter who had just hit two. That's not a panic move. Good grief.
Did you miss the Covington clutch FT stats posted above? Coach has to know that and tell the team: "Get it to Lillard or call a TO."He passed to an 83% shooter who had just hit two. That's not a panic move. Good grief.

Well let's hope we have a chance to meet them in the second round. Unfortunately LAC is the worst matchup.
melo had forced a turnover on a fast break just seconds prior. strangely, i'm OK with that decision. Also, i have a feeling refs would have given him the benefit of doubt on his swipes/contests in that instance. I'm more upset over him not using DJ/RHJ earlier in the game, like when cam payne and torrey craig were killing usI can maaaaybe understand taking Nurk on that defensive possession to go small, but to not put in RHJ or DJJ in that situation over Melo is just asinine, I don’t care that they played zero minutes they’re both better defenders by a mile.
oh well, I’m not the one that’s getting fired.
OK, Tince, you better weigh in. .4 over 71 games, that's 28 attempts, isn't that a pretty good sized sample? That stat is based on 0.4 FTA/game? Jesus, come on.
You don't know what will happen yet. They still need to play the games.Well let's hope we have a chance to meet them in the second round. Unfortunately LAC is the worst matchup.
Why is it that other teams are able to get their star player the ball in these situations?
What do you mean? We get the ball to Dame plenty of times in this situation. This time for whatever reason it looked like he wasn't the first option. Who knows why.
We go from potentially facing Denver/Utah in the first two rounds to LAC/(PHX/LAL) with that loss ... that stings something fierce right there.
My thoughts:
- Officials were horrendous all game long. Even our announcers, who are routinely neutral, kept calling out CP3 for how physical he was allowed to play.
- Unbelievable foul call. Booker doesn't really even attempt to make the shot, rather his goal was to bait the officials into a foul and he was bailed out. One of the worst calls I've seen in recent memory and unreal the officials decided the game with that whistle. Book was flopping to the floor before he even let it go.
- Phoenix sold out to stop Dame from getting the ball. RoCo had just made two FTs; I was relatively confident with him at the line. Just like Saric missed 3 of 4, RoCo missed as well. It happens.
- I was most upset with our second to last possession that ended up with Dame putting up a shot-clock beating, contested 3. We wasted too much time and stopped doing what was working, which was attacking the rack.
- Nurk needs to be better around the rim. He left so many points on the board in the first half and also committed 5 first-half turnovers. If we're going to utilize him heavily in the offense, he needs to be more reliable at finishing around the rim.
- Let's be real, this was a bit of a fluky win for the Suns. There's no way Payne or Craig hit those shots the rest of the season.
On the other note. Dame was disappointed at the end. Probably with a lot of things. He should have this last ball as well.
Silver lining is, maybe he will realise, that he needs brainy coach to help him in moments like this and maybe he realise, that he doesn't have to go into those moments if team play important games in January.
I say, that we play much better cos of Nurk, ofc. But we had tone of "it's just one game"s on the beging of this year (again).
Apart of that, I am happy to see Dame going strong in btb game. Two weeks ago it would be 150:100 for Suns.
