Third straight home game we give up huge lead in garbage time.

Part of player development though...I don't think Stotts cares much about the spread...blowing out teams..it's an opportunity to coach the end of the bench

Great win but Stotts piss me off when he coaching these young guys. Stotts didn't call one time out in the 4th. Dallas got a run against the 2nd unit and instead calling time out to try to stop he just let them play. Stotts be good time give this young guys some learning experience when there not playing good call time out telling what there doing wrong not just sit like some scrimmage in practice. This only thing that piss me off this game.

and after all the chatter about how well CJ performs without Dame; about how playing with Dame limits CJ's game; it's sure looking like it might be that playing with CJ limits Dame's game.

That 3rd quarter stretch was just a thing of beauty. Love having a guy on my team that can just take over a game like that.

I had to watch the game on about an hour delay so I haven’t read the comments…


Great first play out of the gates, it’s too bad Dallas got away with a foul on Nurk but I have to give Stotts credit for actually throwing in a new wrinkle with Dame posting up and Nurk flashing to the middle.


Shooting is terrible. Layman needs to find his stroke again because he is almost unplayable right now. Going into the season the knock on him was that he looks so smooth and has a nice shot, it just rarely goes in. I think he’s shown what happens when he hits shots but his confidence is shot right now.


Dame has really been playing some great defense lately. He’s been active in the passing lane anticipating where the ball is going. Lets hope he continues this into the playoffs.


It sucks when our starting PF is left wide open and Dirk isn’t even trying to close out on him and he still can’t even hit a shot. For some reason we’re almost 10 minutes into the game and Aminu is still in there. How about a quicker hook there Stotts?


Good 1st quarter defense overall.


Horrible defense by the 2nd unit to start the 2nd. They’ve given up 16 pints in less than 4 minutes. There goes the nice lead, FUCK. Yet again we’re going to have to rely on Dame and Nurk because the bench can’t stop anybody.


We got the worthless version of Turner again, yay.


Nice to see Moe hit a couple 3’s in a row. It would be nice if he gets hot from 3 like he did in the 2nd half of last season.


Looks like Stotts is giving Trent a shot instead of going back to Layman. Lets see what you got rook!


Starters built the lead back up while giving Trent a couple of quality minutes. This is the type of thing I was asking for earlier in the season.


Giving up 35 points in the 2nd quarter is unacceptable though. We should be up by way more.


C’mon Jake, get over whatever the fuck is causing you to suck lately. You’re too good to play this poorly. Hey he hit a 3 right after I typed this, hopefully that gets him going.


Dirk is not interested/able to play defense anymore. Why not send the pick for Dame with whoever he is guarding because I guarantee he won’t come out. As I type this Aminu set a pick and Dirk was nowhere to be found leading to a wide open Dame 3. A couple of plays later Harkless sets the pick and Dame with another easy 3. I’m guessing Dirk isn’t gonna play too much more in this game so we need to keep milking this. There’s another one. Good job Stotts recognizing this (even though it was pretty obvious).


Alright bench, please play some defense this time and keep the lead.

If we got a young, shut down, three and D shooting guard for him we would be a much better team. That really is all we need. Dame and Nurk are a killer combo. If we had defense and floor spacing to go with a Dame/Nurk core then we would be in contention.

Yeah boy we beat the Mavs and Lillard was the clear best player on the floor.
Offense looked sooooo good against the Mavs, and Portland was not too bad defensively either.

Look both CJ & Lillard are capable of doing more than they're asked if one is MIA. That's what we've seen.
Yes CJ is not the best defender especially during the regular season. In fact there are times where it does not look like he's even trying on defense during the regular season.
Yes I wish CJ would not only look for teammates more when Lillard is out.
But Lillard & CJ complement one another offensively.

Stotts however seems incapable of getting both to play at a high level at the same time. I've gave up on Stotts ever being able to achieve this.
Stotts however is more than capable of getting both to score at a high level at the same time.
Right now I just want Stotts to realize Portland will go as far as Nurk takes them in the playoffs.
When Nurk is scoring and dishing assists Portland is dangerous because Nurk is a two way player then.
CJ & Lillard will always get theirs. Stotts needs to coach and make sure Nurk gets his.
Simply because this season there won't be an excuse available for Stotts 'It's on Nurk to be aggressive'. As Nurk has been aggressive all season and played like a star all year.

Yah, true, we’d be way better with an unhobbled Wes Mathews for example. I don’t think that alone would put us in contention. Our second unit is too weak. We’d also need a backup point guard so as to 100% stop playing ET, and a second unit center who can defend along side Collins, say Ed Davis.

We know you don't like McCollum, but you do realize we were playing one of the worst road teams last night? Lillard is a superstar that understands what he needs to do under the circumstances. Your statement was a foolish one.
