The Clippers may indeed be tanking to avoid the Lakers till potentially the WCF - they lose out, and we play Denver after all!
If the Lakers don't win out and we beat the Nuggets.

So, the Clippers are behind by 10 in the 4th and if they lose that game they're going to be tied with the Nuggets and the Nuggets will have the tie breaker for the 3rd seed. If the Clips lose this game and the Lakers win tomorrow the Nuggets are going to do everything possible to beat us.

Edit: I just looked at who is playing in that Clippers v Rockets game and it looks like the Clippers are trying to get down to the 4th seed and the Nuggets are obviously not doing that as you could see today with Jokic playing. Sunday will be really interesting.
I think neither one of them want the Blazers. They both want to draw the Mavericks.

Everything will be much easyier if the Pacers can beat the Lakers tomorrow. Very very unlikely since Schröder and probably LeBron are back. We really gotta hope that Clippers Tank will work out. The big problem here, their last game is against OKC who are plain terrible. Even if the Clippers want to lose, i'm not sure they can do it against the Thunder

Look at the East Standings? The Pacers need that game to get into the 8th spot instead of the 9th. They don't want to play Westbrook and Beal right now. The Lakers will need to work to win that game.

I think the Clippers prefer to play Dallas and then Utah. I would.
If Denver is smart so would they.

How funny would it be both Denver and Portland wanted to lose on Sunday.

If Indiana beats the Lakers, it could end up being that all 4 of Denver, LAC, Dallas, and Portland are trying to lose Sunday. And all games start at the same time so nobody can know what the outcome will be

ready for 48 minutes of Elleby, Blevins, RHJ, Leaf, & Giles?

Also, Nuggets will have option to let us win in order to avoid Lakers. ( if Lakers win vs Pacers)

This is pretty much sure.

If i were the Blazers i would rather play Denver but i would also rather play the Jazz before playing the Clippers.

My friend is telling me the NBA is rigging a Lakers vs Clippers series and a Knicks vs Nets series. Both for the second round. So essentially you absolutely don't want to draw any of those four teams in the first round.
I hate conspiracy theories but i could see this.

To be honest I don't really see the logic in your friend's theory. Why would the NBA take a chance on getting caught rigging something that is so insignificant?

I don't see it either. I don't like conspiracy theories but this has been said a couple times.
If the Lakers don't make it out of the playin it's gonna cost some revenue. Can you imagine the media full on love fest of a Lakers vs Clippers series? Think about it happening in a conference finals?
It would be just the same for Knicks vs Nets though I'm pretty sure that one isn't as competitive.

The Pacers are shit show. Easy win for LAL I am afraid.

Wait a minute? Shit Show?
Won 3 of the last 5.
Beat the Hawks
Lost by 1 point to the Wiz in OT
Beat the Cavs
Beat Philly
Lost to the Bucks by 9

Results say otherwise?

Should not have fired Nate. Stupid GM

Seems he was only getting them to the playoffs and winning seldom. Got swept a few times. Cavs, Boston and Heat all had some success.
Three of those teams went on to win the Championship or make it to the Finals. Bad draws no question.
Nate never had a roster that was going to beat the Cavs or Heat.

Nuggets will TANK on Sunday. Why risk injury and beating a team like us which is do or die so they can get 3rd seed and play lakers? The clippers will be hard pressed to loose to OKC who is worst team in nba even with all bench it he tough for okc to win but even if OKC wins, the nuggets got nothing from beating us and then facing lakers. They at least could play us as 6th seed instead of lakers. If clippers win then Denver looses they play mavricks. No way anyone wants to play lakers in 1st round with the refs being 6th man for lakers

if I could get even odds, I'd place a big bet that Portland wins this game (if Lakers beat Pacers today)

what would kind of suck is if the tank doesn't work and LAC beats OKC

So is THIS where we are talking about the last 2 days of craziness and seeding?

i don't think we will want to lose. LA is not losing these two games and we don't want to get into the play in.

Dallas can also choose to tank, and i bet they will to avoid the Clippers. In that scenario, Portland wins against Denver, Clippers lose to OKC, and Dallas loses to Minnesota. We end up as the 5th and play the Clippers at 4th, Dallas at 6th plays the Nuggets at 3rd

What are the odds that Denver sits their starters to insure Blazers win? At this point of they beat us and the Lakers win they play the Lakers if the Clippers ate trying to get the 4th to play Dallas. I would imagine Denver would rather play Portland then the Lakers.

Yep, the Laker win today took care of that. We need to win and we need the Clippers to prefer playing Dallas and Utah instead of Portland and the Lakers.

60/40 they wont sit starters.

One underlying story is that all the games that will decide 3-7 tomorrow are all starting at the same time: 6 PM PST. I have to imagine this was done by the league on purpose to build the suspense. Out of all these teams, only the Blazers and Lakers are guaranteed to be trying to win. The other teams may be trying to win or lose but it depends on what some of the other teams do. Usually one or two games will be done or close to done by the time the night games start, so teams can have a general idea of what they want to do, but they can't really do that tomorrow. Will be interesting if some teams rest players in the second half or some stars suddenly get "cramps" in the 4th quarter in a tight game depending on how the other games are going.

I guarantee that, if the Clippers are losing to OKC, the Mavs will pull of their whole team in the 3rd quarter or 4th against Minnesota and tank back to the 6th seed, they will do scoreboard watching on Sunday, assuming we are leading the Nuggets. Unfortunately for us, we have to win no matter what, but Dallas can tank during the game and lose on purpose to get a 3/6 matchup against Denver
