arguing? I asked a question and I call it a discussion and not sure why you felt the need to jump in without adding anything to the discussion and assuming it's an argument.
@Orion Bailey said "IF" it wasn't a high priority, that would be concerning. He never said he was being swayed by my "opinion". In fact he made it very clear he didn't know either way. Asking him why he assumes they aren't watching enough film indicates that either you aren't reading his posts or you are trying to imply something he hasn't said.

Why are you trying to make this into an argument when it wasn't even posted to you? Stay in your lane bro. :smiley-smiley-049:

I feel like you are trying to put forth an unfounded opinion and I have as well as TBF have shown several articles about doing film sessions but you seem to remember some random tweet or something from Rondo and that's suppose to be proof? You now have others doubting the Blazers use film session very much based on your opinion. If you were a female, you would be called a gossiper.
:bgrin:

I find it pretty funny that you don't like your opinions questioned but do it frequently in this forum to others.
The article that @TorturedBlazerFan posted was the one that most of my opinion is based on. Other than sarcastically saying that Stotts doesn't make them watch film, I have never stated that the Blazers don't use film sessions so I don't get why you are trying to turn this into whether or not they watch any film. Obviously they do. I'm questioning the extent of those film sessions and whether they are focusing on the right things. I don't give a shit if you or others share that same opinion so why would it matter if other people are starting to doubt the use of film sessions based on my posts? I even tried to respectfully say that you are entitled to your opinion and that I have no way to validate my feelings. That doesn't mean my opinion is unfounded.

The Blazers lost 4-0 to the Pelicans.

Dame said they knew their plays and his tendencies.

Dame says that until this year he mostly was focused on what he was doing and that this year it's been an awakening to study other player's habits and other team's plays and that makes him understand the game so much clearer.

To me that indicates that the Blazers weren't fully prepared for their playoff matchup last year. You may feel that isn't really a fair assessment, which is fine. I have no way of going back in time and watching every practice session in the days leading up to that series so I don't know how much film was actually watched and how that information was applied. You can ask me to prove it, but I can't. I'm not asking you to prove that they actually watch film for a certain amount of time because you can't either.

Oh I see, @Orion Bailey asks me a question to which I reply and you interject into it implying something he didn't say yet I'm the one who needs to "stay in your lane bro."
Can you do me a favor and quote whoever it is you're arguing with so I don't have to scroll through half an argument? Personally, from the one side I'm seeing, it doesn't appear they're worth your time or effort. But hell, I waste time with plenty of stupid shit - so spend yours however you see fit!

Would just be nice for these posts (of which there are MANY, and not just you) to not even show up as "new posts" for me.

He did--since it's someone you have on ignore, you don't see the quote either.

With all do respect, going over film could be five minutes or five hours.
Just saying i havent seen anything concrete and clear that shows film watching is a high priority EITHER way.

Im just saying, if it isnt, to me, that would seem like an issue and could probably be tied to our defense.
As with many things in life, the quality matters a whole lot more than the quantity. One could "watch" film while someone else could "study" film. Really studying film is a skill that needs to be developed.

But based on what we can see, I agree with your premise that studying film is not a high priority for the Blazers most of the time.

and you're leaning on one guy that hasn't shown any supporting evidence that they put little emphasis on film sessions. Take it with a grain of salt. Probably all it's worth.

Here is another clip that talks about film sessions on game day as well.

"Game days usually start at 8, 9 in the morning," forward Moe Harkless says. "We come (to the practice facility) for shootaround ... we go over film, we go over (opponent's) sets, get shots up."

Im leaning on someone?

Please explain what this means? I have no clue what you are talking about.

Cup? First i quoted hoop when i entered this convo, so not sure how you think he is jumping in, when it was you who jumped in?

Second. Did you see me ask him if he seriously thought the blazers dont watch film? I was questioning that opinion, if it were his, not agreeing.

Now in this post you say you beleive he is putting forth an unfounded opinion.

Would that be like how you assumed i assumed one way or another which is now causing this confusion and conflict or whatever?

You telling hoop to stay in his lane is just more of the same crap different day.
Him and i were discussing.
You jumped in and i responded with respect. You twist my words around and he called you out on it.

Then you tell him to stay in his lane?
Own your shit man or stop fucking quoting and talking to me. Geez.....

Sure. And i agree studying film 24/7 does no good if you dont know what to study and how to impliment the knowledge gained(if gained) from the film.

But i still dont have an opinion, other than so far, based on the info available, it seems it has not been as high of a priority in the past as compared to after the NO series and what was learned from it.

With that said, i still think the staff should know what to look for and how to get the players on that page. This is the top level. Elite. Nba. Hard to think they dont have a top tier film watcher knowing what to cut, edit and show, to explain opponent tendancies and how we should deal with them.

Not assuming anything as it was a question for clarification. :dunno:

Well not sure what needs clarifying that wasnt already made clear?

If you need further clarifying please pinpoint what specifically and ill be happy to answer as i, and im pretty sure most others, thought i was pretty clear?

Otherwise my opinion is not fully formed, but leaning towards the team not making film study as high a priority as it seems to be now.

I asked you a fucking question. Notice i used this ????. You twisted it into a statement i made so you're the one twisting words. As for your whine about the stay in your lane, that was a parody off a recent commercial with a guy getting a tatoo and when questioned by the customer the artist repllies " stay in your own lane bro". Now quit tryinv to start shit with me once again.

So because you haven't seen anything concrete either way then why assume they aren't watching enough?

This is not asking me if i think they study enough. Its asking me why assume they dont???

Learn the difference, then post....

Dude read my post above. You asked why assume, which is stating i think one way or another....

Wtf man..

Nm. Dont respond.
Maybe a new day tomorrow but im fucking insane thinking things will change tomorrow.

You stated you were leaning towards that they don't do enough film study. That is forming an opinion and obviously you trying to sit on the fence but you keep falling to the same side. What exactly lead you to your non opinion? :smack:

Having an openly evolving opinion is not assuming. Its an opinion in the making based on the facts at hand, but the verdict isnt in yet due to lack of evidence from either side...so nothing is assumed yet.

You didn't answer my question

You didn't answer my question

But i gave you an honest, respectful response.

And already answered your question previously.

All i know is what i have read on here and local media postings.

Nothing concrete enough for me to assume anything one way or another, but to me so
Far, the little evidence is that film watching is now a higher priority, which suggests in thecpast it wasnt.

Either way, from what i know and have been told, film watching is as important or more important that anything else. These athletes already have the drive. Most stay in great shape and grew up with basketball drills and skills.
The biggest unknown, i would think, would be opponent tendancies, of which you only learn through playing them and... watching thier film.

If film watching isnt a top or near top priority it is an eye opener for me.

I havent really read anything clear on it one way or another. Just going off what im reading here on the forum about blazers film watching.

You didn't answer my question

Yes i did. Yesterday. Read above. Last paragraph.

If you have some link thst goes into the details of their film watching to better dissect what they are looking for then post it.

If not, please let others form their opinions as to how they see it.
