To some of you Salary cap guys, why did they let Rolo go, to begin with? I realize they wanted to start over and get young, but he was like 26? I'm glad they ended up with Nurkic, but I've kind of never heard a good explanation on the Lopez stuff, I always thought he was a solid center.
It was the Knicks that signed him to that contract. RoLo didn't play well his final year here after coming back from an injury (I believe a hand injury). He was pretty much a non-factor towards the end of the season. His contract doesn't seem that bad now but that much for a role player when the team was rebuilding wouldn't have been the best route to take.Bulls offered him $54M. Didn't make sense for the Blazers to pay him more than that to anchor what was believed to be a rebuilding team, especially since we had Meyers who was presumably fresh off his breakout series against the Grizz, and had just traded for Plumlee.
