I talked to Wheels today, he will travel with the team for the playoffs.

If Wheel's isn't better by the middle of the off-season, I wonder if they look for someone who can do all of the games? It's sad his health is so poor but at some point, they need a more stable option. Hopefully he gets batter and can get back to doing all of the games.

both players will be non-bird free agents, as will Kanter

Portland could re-sign them for 120% of their current salary....or use an exception, either the tax-MLE or the full-MLE

Portland could pay Curry 3.35M and Hood 4.17M using the non-Bird exception. The tax-MLE will be around 5.3M and the full-MLE would be around 9M, IIRC. But using the full-MLE would hard cap Portland at the apron and further restrict their limited flexibility

Blazers will only have around 6M in space under the tax line for 10 guaranteed contracts, and that would drop to around 4M if they use their 1st round pick. Aminu, Hood, Curry, Kanter, and Layman will all be free agents and Layman is the only RFA. Portland will be more squeezed then ever this summer by that foolish 2016 spending spree. Unless they can dump one of Turner or Meyers, the Blazers are in a vice unless Jody Allen ok's a massive tax bill
They have GOT to find a taker for Turner

ET's defense is the most overrated "skill" on this team. I wouldn't even say he's a better defender than Jake.

Evan Turner gets an extra rebound per 36. Yay. I doubt the teams REB% is any higher with ET on the floor over Layman.

Also, Layman is better than ET by simply standing in the corner because the offense doesn't have to play 4 on 5.

ET and Aminu have been the most disappointing players on the roster for me this year.
Which says something because this roster has Meyers Leonard on it...

Great observation from Dan Sheldon this morning: "Last night we saw Shaquille and Anfernee on the court together for the first time since Penny retired."

Meyers is the worst player i have ever seen. Give Skal all his minutes and live with it

I don't think that is realistic. I don't know if it will be too late to trade CJ this summer? Should have been done at the trade deadline so that guys like Curry knew they had a place on this team.

I don't get why people are ripping on ET? He had 8 assists last night.

I commented during the game, but it's alarming how slow and out of shape he looks. His reduction in minutes has directly resulted in him getting fat. He doesn't even shoot midrange or post jumpers anymore. How does someone GAIN weight during the season?

It's super quick I think it catches defenders off guard. It's almost like he shoots it early.

It is a low release but it is so quick, he gets it off even with defenders in his area.

What it tells me is that his off season weight loss wasn't the healthy and sustainable kind. I know several people who lose weight quickly for one reason or another (like a biggest loser contest or for a vacation/wedding, etc.) and they look great for a month or two but the weight always comes back and it's usually worse than before they lost the weight.

Exactly. Like he's not fully extended into the shot and off it goes.

Or he's just not a hard worker and let his benching/injury be an excuse for him to let himself go. I can't wait til this guy is off the team.

Aminu?...

Aminu's having the best year of his career.

Offensively sure, but the guy is in the league because of his defensively versatility.
In previous seasons I could count on one hand how often he got beat defensively or let his man sneak behind him and receive a drop off pass.
This year it's happening every game almost.
I've actually started to complain about it in game threads and called for him to lose minutes to Collins.
Simply because Aminu is far better than he's played on that end this year. IDK what the stats say and prolly don't back this up due to his offensive production.

After hating the signing of Aminu I came to respect his game and believe he was Portland's best defender. As in previous years he was.
This year he's not even close to that.
