Why are basketball refs so goddamn bad?

You can complain about every sports refs, and they all deserve to some extent, but to me Basketball and in particular the NBA has the most inconsistent officiating in all sports and it's by a wide margin. They aren't just bad, they can't even be consistent in what bad calls their making it shifts all the time. The only thing they are consistent at is their inconsistency...

Curry picked up ball, and Jake has to see that and pick up Galloway instead of standing in the middle of the court guarding no one.

The ones in the Texas Tech game were HORRIBLE. Dude stepped across the OOB line to save a ball, no call. How do you MISS that? Smh. If there was ever gonna be a downfall to basketball, it'd be refereeing.
