There’s an easy way to resign all the guys we want, when LA strikes out in free agency send CJ to the Lakers for their lottery pick. Can you guys handle that?

I’m joking

Yes it does. There’s gonna be a huge difference in our negotiation leverage if we do or don’t win a first round series.

If we lose, we have to sell free agents to come here even though a Lillard-led team has never won a playoff series against a non-injured roster.

If we win, we establish that we’re a top 4 team in the west even without Nurkic - we can sell this to top free agents.
We beat the Clippers in the first round

@ kevin calaboro.
now we were told 35 minutes a night is not enough.
how dare you disagree with a poster on this site.

We don't even have money to resign all of our own guys. We're not going to land a good free agent from another team this summer.

This is probably true, but still, we could move pieces around to make room for KD or AD. There’s no chance either of them come here if we lose in the first round.

Look up the definition of impossible. You use that word too loosely.

Also, never pegged you as this type of poster. Relax man.
I’m not. I never subscribe to tank. Under any circumstances. I think I’m motivated by Simons himself. I think that kid is going to be really fucking good so I want to give him PT in a window where every point matters fully knowing we can’t win it all. There is some degree of logic here.

Except from the start we kind dominated the stat sheet. What's jump out at me 16 fast break points.

Turner, Harkless, a 2020 1st, and ATL right to swap OKCs 2022 1st for Portland's for Taurean Prince.
2nds and Meyers to a team with cap space.

That'd give us about $15M to resign two of Curry, Hood, and Kanter. Hopefully the cheapest one would resign for the room exception. Let Aminu walk. Sign Rolo for minimum.

Lillard / McCollum
McCollum / Curry
Prince / Hood
Collins / Layman
Kanter / Lopez

I like this.

Dame lighting up Scott Foster at the end of the half. Tell me again he doesn't play inspired ball?

And that is why I want Stotts gone.

Not gonna happen. Lillard has already made it clear he wants Stotts.

My biggest problem with Stotts is that he does not try to put teams in foul trouble. The team can have 4 team fouls with 10 min left in the quarter and we will still be running screens for three point shots... we couldn’t do shit against the Pelicans bc we have no game plan vs ultra-aggressive defenses. We should be drawing fouls.

Lol. If it was an Eastern team, I'd be down.

If Portland could trade C.J. for a pick between 5-10, I'd explore the idea if I'm Portland. That's not likely, but it's ideal for us. Use our later first to shed Turner and you're looking at $25M in cap space and a mid-lottery pick (De'Andre Hunter?) Lets say we resign Hood, Curry, Kanter, and Layman for $30M combined a year. Plus the pick, that's $34M in exchange for C.J. That summer, you're looking at $20M-$25M in cap space to add onto a core of:
Dame / Curry / Simons
Hood / Curry / Trent
Hunter / Layman
Collins / Labissiere
Nurkic / Kanter

Not a bad plan.

Lol.
I thought it was he didn't play Lillard enough minutes?
Or
That he didn't force Lillard to take pre-game more serious?

I just want to say that Kanter has been an amazing pick up by NO, and I have been a NO "hater" on here a lot but the trade deadline (yes I know we signed Kanter heh)pickups have been absolute GREAT for this team.
I don't give Neil props for that. A great player chose to come here. Neil made the obvious decision in accepting. Hood was a more impressive pickup.

He did some really smart moves though, he managed to free up roster spots with guys who weren't going to play and pick up two guys who are rotation guys who deserve minutes. He could've easily done just about nothing. He doesn't clear up the roster spots he couldn't have brought on Kanter without waiving someone. I dunno, I just think that for that couple of weeks he did a good job.

Fine, when the NYK strike out in free agency send him there for an unprotected 2020 1st, they aren’t giving us a top 3 pick, which they will probably get.

Well since you asked, yeah, Stotts makes all kinds of mistakes with Lillard. He’s far too passive with Lillard. He shouldn’t let Lillard rap. He should be demanding not only that Lillard takes pre-games more seriously, but that Lillard LEADS our team in pre game. Our pre game is pitiful.

Plus He shouldn’t let Lillard take so many 40 ft 3s.. especially with lots of time on the clock.

He shouldn’t let Lillard have an iso as our one and only last-second play.

Don't forget Lillard drinks like a fish too.

Clippers losing to the Warriors. If they lose, OKC jumps them and gets into the 6th seed.

We need OKC to beat Houston for us to get the 3-seed. But at this point, if OKC beats Houston to help us get the 3-seed, we'd likely play them in the first round.

Beating a team without super star calls will be hard enough.

shouldn't "let" him rap? Of all the things to complain about...god fucking lord.
