I'd be good with 6 minutes! Those 6 minutes Pat stunk up the joint. Thats all i'm askin!
Got to agree Pat was awful. Not sure what he was doing out there? Thing is he has also had plenty of good minutes. It's not that i'm against playing Wade at all. But thinking he is the answer seems to be the new bell to ring.

Teams are just taking away passing lanes. It's pretty easy to do when you're okay with either Turner or Aminu chucking a three instead. There's more cutting with Hark, because he opens up the court. Even then, I'd agree there's not enough. But again, Dame likes Stotts, so Stotts will probably be here a long while.

And don't get me wrong - I'm anti-Stotts. I dislike his inability to adapt to anything and the fact that he wants bad offensive players taking jump shots. But the fact stands that we have really poor overall talent. Hopefully next year Zach can earn that four spot, and we get a healthy Harkless back. Aminu off the bench is a much more valuable player than Aminu starting at the four, in my opinion.
That is exactly what is happening. Teams do not have to guard Aminu. Sagging off him. We watched this last season also.
Not sure this is Stotts fault. He could make a decision and start Collins but other than that i'm not sure what he can do here?

2) Plumlee fouled Nurkic in the last two minutes away from the ball (the elbow to the head). Away from the play fouls in the last two minutes of any quarter are supposed to be one free throw and the ball. Are they actually trying to say that the foul was on the ball and part of the play? It was a 3 point game at this point so we should've been given a free throw and the ball. Instead they called it just a regular foul with Nurk shooting two free throws.

I believe the wording is intentional foul away from the ball. It was called as a common foul away from the ball. But they did discuss whether it was a Flag 1. Came back as common foul. But the only real wording i can find is about inbound plays away from the ball. So that leads me to believe that because this was not an inbound play they treated it in the same manner as the screen type foul.

Now as far as Malone goes. Totally agree on both parts. Should be a game suspension for the player and that type of Tech should be looked at for ejection.

More Stotts. We will never win a championship with him at the helm. If there's such thing as being "too much" of a player's coach, it's him. Every single player on the team has the green light which leads to some of the most undisciplined offense I can remember watching as a Trail Blazers fan. Why are we running sets for Evan Turner? Why is Aminu hoisting up EIGHT triples? Why does Collins shoot from 3 every single time he touches the ball without one thought of moving it around for a better possession? And why in the hell can he not figure out how to incorporate Jusuf Nurkic into the offense? There is zero accountability for a poor shot. We should have beat that Denver team by 15+ points tonight but we got reckless on offense and continued to jack up three after three. Sound familiar?

This! Stotts doesn't seem to care if a player can't hit the broadside....as long as he is open. Well Coach, there is a reason Aminu is open on most nights. Fortunately players like Ed Davis and Nurkic are smart enough to know when they are open from '3', they shouldn't just jack up a shot. Aminu hasn't figured out he is open for a reason. CJ always thinks he is open no matter what the situation.

This is because they are allowed and that the coach doesn't hold them accountable to make a better play.

No, the rule is any foul "away from the play", whether it is intentional or not is irrelevant in the last two minutes.

"The current rule for away-from-the-play fouls applicable to the last two minutes of the fourth period (and last two minutes of any overtime) -- pursuant to which the fouled team is awarded one free throw and retains possession of the ball -- will be extended to the last two minutes of each period."

Otherwise the Blazers should've just ran over Plumlee away from the play.

Loose ball foul is still a loose ball foul. So i don't see that being the case. But i can't argue it because it seems to be very unclear.

Or it's just a testament to how bad Pat has been.

6 minutes.

Loose ball foul would be on like a rebound or a dive for a ball. Those fouls occur during an actual basketball play (like my example of if someone is setting a screen they can be fouled since they are part of the play). The foul on Nurk was NOT part of the play. He was standing in the key no where near the ball, that isn't a loose ball foul.

Honestly I can’t disagree with you on this at all. Just looking for why they might have called it that way?
