we had a discussion about this a while ago...if (insert your favorite Blazer) averaged 40ppg on 40 shots, would you consider him a scrub or the unanimous MVP?

That would actually be very bad. That is 1 point per shot. Even the worst offensive team in the NBA gets more than that.

No what I've proven is that the coach still rides him.

How did you prove that? One game was 6 shot attempts, and most of the others were 11 or 12 shots. That's not "riding" a player. 18 is riding a player. 20 is riding a player. The Lakers are riding the fuck out of Kobe right now.

What the hell is everyone fretting about? Great win with our anchor having perhaps one of his worst shooting nights of his career. Am I missing something?

Statistics show that if the game were 2 quarters longer we would have lost. We haven't won a 6 quarter game this season.

Shooters are gunna shot. A lot of his shots were within the offense and some were WIDE OPEN. Cut him some slack, he was trying to get out of his funk. I've been there, I guarantee his teammates wanted him to shoot.

No they didn't. Iverson averaged 31.5 on 25 FGA/g. (1.26pps) 2004 it was 31 on 24 shots. Over his entire career he averaged 26.7 on 21.4 shots.

that said, I think I need to re-say it. LMA actually shot fewer jumpers today than he's been averaging. He's only had 4 games with fewer shots than 18. I don't know if some of you realize how much LMA shoots. Today was a once-in-a-career bad shooting night, and he still stayed involved on D and rebounding. While shooting less than he normally does. Oh yeah, and we won.

Iverson never was at 1 pps or below. Though he was the epitome of a volume shooter, he got to the line. I one of his best years his pps was at 1.23. That is what Portland gets as a team, and we are one of the most efficient offensive teams in the league.

Kaman was 5-12 (41.6%) for the game with 12 points and 7 boards in 17.5 minutes. Seems pretty good to me
