Your sentiments were quite clear in the game thread. I'll let that comment stand for others to comment on...lol.

fair enough..I just expect better of him. It may be unfair, but he has earned my expectations

We should trade Mo and Lillard for Steve Blake and Steve Nash.

Then may I ask a question? Has Mo been shooting well, dribbling little and the bench is an area of strength? I'm not trying to pick an argument but those seem like legitimate observations. No one is happier with the Blazers start than I am but I'm also looking at the long term and the bigger picture. I'm just worried about what an almost last-place production bench might cost the amazing job the starters are doing. Is that so out of the realm of consideration?

:matrix:

They are legitimate criticisms. Just as him being a veteran presence in the locker room, pushing the ball up the court, nailing some really clutch buckets, being THE spark that got Portland back into several games are valid praises. Mo is on a 2 year contract. He does not hinder any long term flexibility, nor was he brought in as a long term solution. Mo is a huge improvement over last season's Smith, and even Maynor. It is what it is. I understand being frustrated with the criticisms, but some talk like there is a better option available the Blazers could work. Don't you think Olshey would be making a move if there was a better fit? I do. Mo fits and we just gotta take the frustration with the good. It's part of the game, and a win is still a win.

ok your franchise guy should not shoot or play like lillard did tonight, period.

11-12 from the line, 23 points, 7 assists, 3 steals. Those are franchise numbers.

Plus, it could very easily be argued that Aldridge is our franchise player. NOT Dame.

Edit - oh... and he won the game... did I forget to mention that?

ok I dont have the box score in front of me...so he shot what? How was is reading of the floor? Did he hog the ball and try to be superman, or pass when he really needed to? Hey, I like Lillard..but he does need to improve.

7 dimes and 3 steals with only 2 turnovers...

6-21 from the field, BUT he went 0-7 from deep and that almost never happens. Dame is shooting over 40% from three for the year, so if he even made 2 or 3 of those 7, he would have scored 29 points in the game.

He's a scorer. That's what he does for this team. Batum is our distributor.

his misses are more important than his makes. When he figures hat out , he will be stellar.

All the Blazers who have shot 33% or less in wins while scoring 20 or more. Note how many times Clyde is on there.

Yes, our second year guard has some improvement to do. Thank you, Captain Obvious. :ghoti:

I... He... he made the game winner, but that wasn't as important as that miss he had in the middle of the 2nd quarter by your logic.

Lillard is the floor leader for the best team in basketball. Stop studying box scores and look at the standings.

Suck on this:

In Lillard's career, he is 7-1 in overtime.

He has shot 78.9% from the field in those 8 games. His three point percentage is 55.6% and he is 100% on free throws.

Just FYI, Lillard didn't miss in OT (4-4) and hit the game winner. I think he got a dime and steal as well.

Also, Lillard has a championship-loke swag that rubs off on the whole team. When Ellis hit the wide open game winner at the moda center, he and his teammates celebrated like they had won the championship. When Lillard hit his well defended fadeaway to beat Detroit, he walked away like it was n big deal. No Westbrook guns in holsters. No arms in the air or fist pumping. Just another win. That's what real champions do. He's clearly not just about regular season. He wants a title.

“It doesn’t matter if I’m 0-for-16, when the game is on the line, I’m raising up and shooting" -- Damian Lillard

He's tempting the basketball gods. One of these nights....

Its fun watching this team and actually thinking "I wonder how we are going to come back and win this one". I haven't done that since 2000. Gotta love it!
