The four main bench players range from -14 to -25. The starters just can't bail that out on a nightly basis. 40+ minutes for Lillard and Aldridge trying to dig it out. As they get into the tougher parts of their schedule (not so many East coast bottom dweller games and games on the road against SAS, OKC, HOU, MIA, IND etc) they are just going to have to have more production.
