It's both. Our roster is built around guys who can make shots and Stotts has devised an offense that takes advantage of that and creates open looks. It also helps that our guys move the ball really well, make the extra pass and find the open teammate. We have a very unselfish team.

Three of our starters are great 3-point shooters and two of our bench guys are well above average. We lead the league in 3FG% at .415 (you guys are 20th at .339) and 3-pointers made (10.1 per game), but are only 5th in 3-pointers attempted. We shoot a lot of 3s, but make them at a much higher percentage than most other teams.

Aldridge is also killing it from mid-range. His spin to the baseline fade away jumper has almost been like a layup recently. For the season, he's shooting 59% from that range. That's generally considered the lowest value shot in the NBA (the league average is only 41%), but when you have a guy who makes almost 60% from there, it opens things up for other players to get open looks. There isn't anyone who can defend Aldridge 1-on-1 right now, but if you double him you leave one of our excellent 3-point shooters wide open on the perimeter. Pick your poison.

Yes, we are a jump shooting team, but a very good one. We are also tied for 3rd in the league in OREB at 13.2 per game. So, when our jump shots aren't falling, we do a good job of hitting the offensive glass and getting second chance points. Lillard's game winning 3-pointer is being featured on SportsCenter, but 18 rebounds for 35 second chance points was the real reason we won in Cleveland last night.

This is one of the reasons I don't think the Blazers are contenders. The mid range game is nice to have, but he relies on it way too much. It just takes one bad slump and they are out.

Trail Blazers @trailblazers
RT @JerryZgoda Adelman says he expects both DC and Martin to play tonight

Out of what? We're 18 games over .500, we've given us breathing room.

It's like school... you kick ass in the beginning, and then you can afford to 'slack off' a little bit and still get a damn good grade. You still work your tail off, but it doesn't hurt as much if you lose 2-3 games here and there.

BTW, didn't you have a big old boner for Pek to Portland last year? Now you're calling him an oaf. Man, you're one fickle bitch!

I remember telling you at the time Pek was a bigger, slower, paler, much more expensive version of J.J. Hickson - a stat padder who doesn't play defense. Hmm... sound like anyone else on the Minnesota roster? Maybe he learned from the "best".

Playoffs...

Playoffs...

So, okay, say we go on a 4 game skid from today till the 28th. Now we're 22-8, then we get right back into it for 15 games, and win 12 of them. 34-11. Slumps happen, having the cushion to sustain it is key.

But, being the wolves, I understand that's a rarity. It's okay, jealousy stings.

How does it take a third post to make it known that I am talking about in the playoffs?

Being a contender is winning in the playoffs. Not the regular season.

He relies on it because it's reliable. He makes it at an almost 60% clip, where the league average is 41%. The spin to the baseline, fade away mid-range jumper is his go to move. It is unblockable, and because he spins away from the middle, it renders double teams futile.

you must be new to the game, so a hardy "Welcome" to you. Just so you do not again show everyone here that the price tag is still on your forehead, That mid range shot has been LMAs bread and butter for years. It is as effective as most lay ups.

YEah. But your slump never was predicated on a time frame. So, had you of done that, I would have obliged, but you leave it wide open and I can roll with it. Then you felt like changing the time frame. Not my fault there, champ.

So, playoffs, when we're fine tuned? We are one of the best at 2nd half adjustments defensively (our dtrg drops 12 pts from the 2nd to the 3rd), so prolonged slumps (games long) have been rare.

So, if we're talking about playoffs, and being contenders. Do you really think the Wolves are contenders with one of the worst shooting point guards (talk about slumps) and Love?

Right, queue the cawk pics in 3...2...1...

So, if Love is the best power forward in the game, Rubio is better than Lillard and Pek is all that, why are the Blazers 22-4 and the Wolves 12-13? Funny, I don't feel the least bit embarrassed.

But Rubio's assists! Oh my gawd. :MARIS61:

He has never made the mid range jumper at this rate. He may have improved, but not by this much.

When did I say Rubio is better than Lillard or that Pek is an all-star?

Just curious, are you saying LMA is a better PF than Love?

No the Wolves are not contenders. Neither are the Blazers.

:). That's cute. At least you got the first half right. I like how you tried there to be "realistic" but it fell. It's okay, I know it's a bitter pill to swallow seeing the team you wish you could be at 22-4, but it'll be okay.

If only LA would jack up 11 three pointers in a game.... if only....

Kevin Love isn't a power forward. Kevin Love is a small forward that's too fat to be called a small forward.

I think it's cute the Wolves fans are trolling, trying to get any enjoyment out of a completely lost season.

Just curiouis, are you actually thinking Love is a better PF?

Let's see, Love is scoring more, assisting more, rebound more, better Ts%, better eFG%, draws more fouls, and actually has a better ORtg and DRtg.

But, LMA does get .4 more steals a game and .5 more blocks.

Yep, LMA is better. Sorry.

Why won't they fucking play blazer broadcast on league pass?! I hate watching the other team's announcers!

I would be frustrated too if everyone said before the season that we were a lock for the playoffs, but here we are again.... outside looking in.

And what's the excuse this year? Love is healthy. Rubio is healthy. Pek is healthy. What's the excuse?

Yes he has. 3-time Player of the Week and leading his team to 22-4 proves it. 26 games is not a hot streak, it's a trend.
