anyone know why we only play boston twice?

Good Game guys. You can see the Blazers bench will be very strong later in the year and this young team has the makings of being a beast in a year or two.
You have a whole decade of good ball to look forward to IMO.

Should be a great game in Portland later in the year :D

There really isn't a huge difference between the Celtics fanbase and Blazers fanbase, IMO. Both have gotten pretty good relatively quickly and enjoy inflating their perception of their own team...except only the Celtics have something real to base that off of. This described the Nets fanbase too for the post KMart-era (since they had back-to-back ECF wins to back them up).

...KG is overrated though.

Really? 2 turnovers in 8 minutes from the PG showed you this? Interesting...
guess you missed the 2 17footers off of the dribble which Blake nor Surge can do, or the lightning quick moves to the hoop to get to the line 4-6 times..and he actually doesn't get scared..

Embarrassing loss imo. The team collapsed in the 3rd. Then the bench got us to 11 and Nate gave up and didn't put the starters back in.

Rudy played a much worse game than Roy yet he is in at the end.

Boston = Eastern Conf team
Portland = Western Conf team.

All Eastern Conference teams play 1 home and 1 road game vs Western Conf teams and vice versa.

Great news! If you take out that 21-0 run, we outscored them by seven! Take that, Celtics!

We're still 2nd in the West if that's any consolation. (Thank you San Antonio!)

umm 21 minus 7 is 14, Celtics won by 15 :p

and alas all buckets scored while the clock is running count, so you can't erase the 21 to zip run

That might be a concern for the Celtics considering the age of the starters. They might wear down as the season goes on without a deep bench.

Well, on to Toronto. We'll actually beat them to Canada. I suspect we'll want to get out of Boston ASAP. That was a huge dump we laid on their court. The cleanup crew is going to have a big job on their hands.

Oops. Anyway, scoreboard! I choose to not count that 21-0 run. 78-72 Blazers!

KG only yells at inferior players/young kids. I watched Detroit and Boston play a couple weeks ago and KG didn't say a word to Sheed. Nothing other than regular trash talk, not taunting like he did to Roy and Bayless, which didn't get called.

He knows Sheed isn't afraid.

Sounds like a great player to play off of Roy ala Jack, but the turnovers won't cut it in a close game.

I think it's a stretch to say Bayless proved in garbage time, and much of it against Eddie House, that he is now better than Blake or Roy.

Well bad game by the Blazers. Hats off to Boston, they beat us good again. Not much else to say.

At the end of the year this loss will count as much as every other win/loss. We're 3-1 on the current road trip, let's just put this beatdown behind us and move on to the next.

Losing isn't fun but the beat goes on... Rome wasn't built in a day... Can't win 'em all... What doesn't kill us makes us stronger... Umm, etc.

I think it is. That's what really matters right now; this game had potential to be a big win, but really, we lost and it's just a loss that tells us we're not superhuman. So we lost to the champs. Big deal. Lots of teams have lost to them this year.

The stakes for us were low, but the potential reward was high. You lose and you're just another 14-7 team. You win, and you're kings for a week. I think it's pretty easy to pick yourself up after this game and punish the next team. We did it after our last couple losses (Chicago, anyone?).

I feel pretty lousy for the loss, but not about the team. Off night, great opponent. Shit happens.

My excuse for the 21-0 run was that the team wanted to make Rudy feel more at home, so we took a siesta at the end of the 2nd quarter and the beginning of the third. Halftime simply isn't enough time to properly rest if you're a Spaniard.

I do have the feeling this loss will do more to motivate than demoralize, so it's hopefully not all bad.

One of those turnovers was a double dribble where he was fouled hard and almost put it down on Garnett.

Bayless showed me something tonight, and it wasn't a reminder of Jarrett Jack.

Not sure how you deduced that from today's performance, I can only surmise that you've seen us play other teams. :dunno:

If you take out last year's 13 game win streak, the Blazers were really under .500!

Do we get more lottery balls? We were only one number away from getting Rose. Dumping those 13 wins would have given us a much better chance at him!

Yes, Bayless had a couple TO's but I think he will learn. Did you notice what he said to Rudy when he made that bad lob pass. He was saying it was his fault and you could tell it was really bothering him. He has hardly played so I would give Bayless a little slack. He played with more guts then most of those so called starters tonight.

I'm not saying he didn't show me something, but I think it is premature to annoint him a better PG than either Blake or Sergio based on one garbage time performance.
