I think we have a Rookie of the Year.

"I felt real comfortable making posts. It’s a lot easier to find motivation to post when L.A. is making shots, Wes is making shots and Nic is making shots. I gotta give credit to them, they made shots, and it made it easier for me. It’s like a confidence, you feel like everything is fine. When I was scoring points and making solid posts, I felt like this board was going to be fine. If you needed a great post, I was going to be able to write that post. If we needed a point to be made, I was going to be able to do it. I felt like I could get the topic places and make things happen. I haven't put it together yet. It will be a lot of watching film, trying to figure out what I wrote, what was the best opportunity, what didn't I take advantage of, different analogies, punctuation and stuff like that. It's a good start but I want more. I'm not satisfied. I just want to help this team win games. I want to be an All-Star. I want to compete for an NBA Championship."

Stunning prose here, SPD. I can certainly see why the Blazers deemed you worthy of press credentials.

Thank you! Wait until they see how pretty I am, they'll probably want to put me on TV.

Has it been mentioned here yet that the Bulls are professional streak busters? They ended Miami's win streak last season and they were the first team to beat Indiana this season.

Only because we didn't get to end Indiana's streak first.

The rest of this game thread might be anti-climactic after the epic lulz up till now.

What 2 Watch 4 - Trail Blazers Vs. Bulls

It’s been a long time since Blazermaniacs have gotten to see one of the NBA’s best players in action. In the time since Derrick Rose last played in Portland, 1,020 days have passed, the Trail Blazers have tallied 90 wins, and Rip City has welcomed to the team their own star point guard, Damian Lillard. The two former Rookies of the Year square off for the first time tonight in a much-anticipated matchup of two of the game’s premier signal callers. Lillard has connected on more 3-point shots within his first 100 career games than any other player in league history. And he hasn’t even played 100 games! Earlier this season, he became the second NBA player to ever convert at least three 3-point attempts in each of his team’s first five games of a season. And then there’s Rose, the three-time NBA All-Star (2010-12) who finished in the NBA’s top 10 in scoring and assist averages in 2010-11 before taking home the 2011 NBA MVP trophy. The first overall pick in 2008 averaged at least 20 points in three straight seasons before missing the 2012-13 campaign due to injury. And about that last visit to Portland on Feb. 7, 2011 – Rose scored 36 points on 14-for-27 shooting. But LaMarcus Aldridge countered with a career-best 42 points (15-23 FG), and Portland got the W, 109-103.

Damian Lillard
• Named the 2012-13 NBA Rookie of the Year after averaging 19.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 6.5 assists
• Has connected on more 3-pointers than any other NBA player in his first 100 career games
• This season, became the first NBA player to ever record 100 points, 25 rebounds, 25 assists and 20 3-pointers in his team’s first five games

Derrick Rose
• Named the 2008-09 NBA Rookie of the Year after averaging 16.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists
• A three-time NBA All-Star, Rose was named NBA MVP after averaging 25.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 7.7 assists in 2010-11
• Missed the entire 2012-13 season after tearing the ACL in his left knee during the 2012 NBA Playoffs

Should be the best crowd of the year (which is something I should never have to say). Can't wait.

I think you ned to be more greedy. I see "you wanted more" But I wanted to see the word Greedy.

Grade: A-.

This game is winable if we stay out of foul trouble, make a good % of shots and contain turnovers. As for pt guards, people keep pining for CJ but he's not a true pt guard by any stretch. Earl Watson is probably the best defensive pt guard we have and he protects the ball. CJ has not faced a real NBA defense yet. He's a scorer, an undersized two guard who needs to develop...not every draft pick is going to turn out to be Damian Lillard. I think CJ will become a rotation player in the future but I don't think he's going to be that this season. Stotts wants to win now!

With Chicago's bigs, we may need Meyers due to foul trouble. Lopez nor Freeland get many favorable calls. Noah and Gibson will for sure. I'm curious to see what TRob and Meyers would be like together on the court, in summer league they seemed to compliment each other really well. Meyers can score and TRob can rebound.

Smart move; another big who can nail the midrange jumper and foul a bunch.

I have something to confess. During the first quarter against the Bucks, I told God "I'm fine with losing to Chicago. Just make us win tonight against the Bucks."

So if the past is an indication, we'll start the game with threes from Wes. Then we'll post up Wes. Then we'll throw the inbound alley oop to Wes. Then Nic will run the pick and roll with Lopez. Then, Aldridge gets his. Enter Mo Williams. Lillard comes back and starts to look for his.

You're testing fate. :MARIS61:

That's just exactly what we've done the last few games. Maybe the Bulls know that so they'll force to use Lillard and Aldridge more which is fine with me. We are a bear to defend.

That is true, we are very tough to defend with all these shooters. We have a lot of options!

I think we're due for Nico to have a monster 3rd qtr...in the past that was his qtr

So bummed I have to miss this game. I know my Blazers will be victorious.
