GAME THREAD: BULLS @ BLAZERS - 11/22/13, FRIDAY, 7 PM, CSNNW

Welcome to our community

Haven't watched the game yet... but I see the Blazers shot 41%, got out-rebounded by 13, shot 14 fewer free-throws, Aldridge was 4-20, got 8 points out of the bench... ... and won?

Was one of the most entertaining games of the season

The trade Wes talk was sickening over on BE pre-season and first few games. And they are allowed to drone on, because if you tell them their opinion is retarded, you'll get censored.

Well, we certainly couldn't even think about trading him after CJ went down. That wasn't even a realistic option.

I've always been such a huge fan of his heart and his energy and his effort, but he seemed so off during the preseason. It's great to see him playing so well. He is the heart of this team, the little engine that could, and I love that he brings it every night. The NBA pissed him off and we're reaping the benefits.

With all that said, I'm still not sure how we're going to find minutes for CJ. I still think a trade will have to happen at some point. Not sure if that will involve Wes, but I don't see us keeping CJ on the bench forever.

Wow. A night of mixed emotions.

The good: Blazers beat a respectable team with both LMA and the bench having off nights. Fantastic!

The bad: I hate to see Rose go down again. I don't wish that on any player (except Kobe and Oden). It makes the NBA as a whole a little less fun to watch.

Tibs giving made love on Aldridge on Nba.com TV. Said He did everything he could to take Aldridge out of his game. Aldridge was excellent on defense. Thanks Tibs! You are class

He did take LMA out of his game. If Wes doesn't have the Game of His Season, we lose by 20.

Highly probable. Then again, I expected us to just give up after that first half tonight but we fought like crazy to claw back.

I can't figure out this team and how we keep on winning.

I want to know what Stotts said at halftime! The most important adjustment was how to combat Chicago doubling LaMarcus. He killed them with skip passes to the back side, and his teammates made Chicago pay with some big 3s. Our defense also stepped up and led to some easier baskets, but when it got down to it, we broke down their half court defense when we needed to and that was huge.

As we've seen with some teams, the current CBA matters. Having Wes as cheap as we have him after that first year.... Is there anyone 5-6 years into their career that contributes like he does at his salary level? Someone here will find a few, but it's a small list.

The bench was bad.

Only 8 points on 3-13 shooting.

Right now the bench consists of Mo and Dorell - the rest clearly aren't ready for consistent minutes.

Hurry up, CJ!

Gut feeling is that he just reiterated that we were taking shots outside our offense (and skillset). Yeah, CHI's defense is good. Yeah, they were doubling LMA (and doing everything to take him out of the offense). That doesn't mean that we should've taken mid-range runners (Wright) or contested pullups (Mo) or long jumpers when you're shooting <20% and there are open 3pt shooters (LMA).

I really like where this offense can go.

Seeing Dwight Jaynes get excited about Wes' play and the Blazer win seems so disingenuous. He's admittedly not a fan. It's painful to watch. lol

I can't stand Jaynes anymore. Seems as fake as you can get.

We don't censor here (for the most part).

That being said, there were a few here bagging on Wes, especially during preseason. I'm a big Wes fan and always have been. #underrated

I have no issues with ppl disagreeing or unpopular opinions, but ffs, if you're gonna trash on the Blazers, make your point, and then stfu. Or continue, and don't butthurt when people bag on that bs. Ya?

I said it over and over. Preseason means nothing.

CJ can't play back up PF or C. And Freeland and TRob are doing just fine. They didn't do much tonight but TRob personally won the game against Phoenix for us.

Rose fears he tore his other (right) ACLU, per WGN.

Wow, fucking crazy, if it happens....

Especially since it seems like finding a decent shooting guard is so hard right now. The NBA used to have so many great shooting guards, and now it's pretty sparse. It's weird how we go through chunks of time where point guards are it, like right now with Paul, Westbrook, Deron Williams, Rondo, the list just goes on and on. How many great shooting guards are in the league though?

No shit preseason means nothing. But people bagging on a player based on preseason... That means something.

Nice to see you're back on the Wes train after you were killing the guy during the preseason and early season!

Go Blazers! Just got back from the game. Rose thinks he tore his right ACL now? I didn't see anything that would have indicated it. Maybe that drive where LMA basically swatted him, and Rose landed on his right leg and fell down?

Some people just like to complain about players. Give NateBishop credit for at least doing a 180 on Wes.

As we say in Germany.... Ja. Dat was here der point.

I wasn't killing him. I was concerned about him, and those concerns ended up being correct because he had a heart condition. I said on many occasions that he didn't seem like himself. Yes, he had a horrible preseason, but what concerned me was that he didn't seem like his heart was in it. That's not like Wes at all, which was concerning. Luckily he's back to himself.

Mother. Fucking. Rip. City.

I was a bit disappointed at first to hear and see all of the Bulls fans at the game tonight. Over the past few years, there are more and more fans of the visiting team. Drives me crazy. Thankfully they were shut up after halftime. Batum on Rose made a huge difference; Lillard gets picked off so damn much and can't recover.

That second half run was fantastic. Everyone woke up and just when you thought it couldn't get louder....we stole the ball and somehow, it got louder. It was a long night for LA, but he came through with those clutch free throws. And....what else is there to say about Wesley? Iron Man was locked on.

Sucks for Rose. He's one of the players in the league I really like to watch and I hope it's not as bad as it looked. As soon as Batum stole that ball and I saw him lunge and his knee give out, I knew something had happened.

I love my team and I won't be horribly upset if we lose at Golden State. Tonight was another special night and I'm so proud of this team.

I can't wait to check my DVR.
