Just let Lillard shoot 3s every possession and see how many he can make

I put zero stock in the past 2 games. The media will bet the farm on these past 2 games.

Short shots are from tired legs. They need these 3 days to decompress.

You've put essentially zero stock in any game we lose. maybe you should look closer instead of making excuses at times? Or, just tell me our record, and I'll go away.

Spurs lost tonight too. We need a fucking break. At this point, I kinda hope that Dame doesn't make the All-Star team because I want him to rest and I want him fired up from the snub.
I second that emotion.

Holy hell, check out this stat:

Nic is 1/13 for threes in his last 5 games. You have to go back to 1/21 to find the last game where he hit a three.

Well, Stotts won't be coaching in NO this All Star weekend.

Re: GAME THREAD: GRIZZLIES @ BLAZERS - JANUARY 28, 2014, TUESDAY, 7:00 PM (PST), CSNN

They obviously need rest, why in the hell are the starters playing this late in a game that was lost in the 1st quarter?

He's still going to play in the Rising Stars game, as well as the Skills' competition. Playing 6 more minutes in the AS won't be that big of a deal. He's already going to be there.

I feel sorry for Toronto. They are gonna get pounded Saturday.

Stotts is punishing them.

Add your comments to things I put zero stock in.

No excuses - just an ugly loss.

You know, you can put her on ignore. :MARIS61:

McCollum with his worst game as a pro. Clearly his fault. Unless you count Mo, Dame, Wes....

Can't buy a bucket! We'll get the next one! Night folks!

I mentioned that a couple weeks back. Our players need rest during the all-star break and come back refreshed.

I wonder if Claver was cheering for Gasol during the game

Someone mentioned this before but...he's already going to be there anyways, playing a few minutes in the ASG won't kill him.

Besides, it's nice to get that recognition. Helps with his reputation around the league and might help him get calls.

Re: GAME THREAD: GRIZZLIES @ BLAZERS - JANUARY 28, 2014, TUESDAY, 7:00 PM (PST), CSNN

I hate how we're validating all the haters. Then again, I suppose it's better to get cold in the middle of the season rather than at the end of it. Only 2 games ahead of #4 seed now. With a tough 4 game road trip coming up.

Re: GAME THREAD: GRIZZLIES @ BLAZERS - JANUARY 28, 2014, TUESDAY, 7:00 PM (PST), CSNN

Rest? That's a lame excuse IMO.

Last I checked every team has played the same amount of games, or close to...

All-stars don't mind playing in the game. It's the meeting and greeting during the festivities that some of the players dislike tremendously.

It's a huge PR campaign each season.

It is a lame excuse. Each team goes through rough patches during the season. Gotta be ready to roll with the punches.

Again, he's already going to be there, and he's already going to make appearances for adidas. Playing in the game as a reserve isn't going to add much to his weekend. Would I like if he had the time off during the game? I guess. Would I rather him be an AS since he's going to be there anyhow? Yes. Would I prefer he had an entire week off to rest up and recharge his batteries? Obviously, but that isn't an option.

Based on what? We haven't pounded anyone in the last two weeks - even longer than that at home. We've put teams away late, but we are consistently getting lit up in the 1st quarter at home, giving teams confidence and letting them hang around all night.

We beat SA, and pounded Dallas. Haven't had time off to practice or rest since. 8 games in 12 nights. It takes it's toll physically and mentally. They need to stay home tomorrow. Don't even go to the practice facility unless it's to get treatment.

Golden State lost tonight to the Bullets. These things happen in the NBA, and the marathon is making the playoffs. At that point, you don't play back-to-backs. You're on target with your fatigue posts. It's obvious to most who closely watch the NBA that teams get tired when the schedule compacts.

It's actually 9 games in 14 nights, too, which matters when you consider the team didn't get home until well after midnight yesterday, and had 36 hours or so until tonight's game.

Nothing some B vitamins won't cure and some serious ZZZZZss then a whole lotta film on how this happened, it's all good...come out of the break with some pizzazz!!!

Portland isn't validating haters. Haters hate. Win or lose, they will hate on the Blazers. Any jackass saying "I told you so" about Portland not being one of the best teams in the NBA has been eating crow the entire 1st half of the season and need to shut up and finish eating their crow. I don't expect to hear from them again till sometime in 2016.

Well, I think some people felt like we were playing above our heads at the beginning of the season, and they were probably right. I still think we're probably going to end up 4th or 5th in the west, which was my prediction before the season started. We're a good team, I don't think we have the defense or bench to compete at the same level as San Antonio or OKC, but I think we're going to get out of the first round and how deep we go in the playoffs depends greatly on who we play. There's nothing wrong with that though. The team is playing much better than most people thought. We're going through a bit of a slump right now, but that's common for shooting teams. We were riding high when our shot was falling, and we're having a tough time when our shots don't fall. Hopefully Stotts can't make some adjustments when we actually get some time off.

Or as I mentioned in another thread, we're actually trying to make Barkley a genius?

Wesley matthews did not shoot the ball until the 2nd quarter. with Lillard and Batum in shooting slumps, it seems he should be featured as our 2nd scoring option.

Mo, thanks for the timely, careless turnovers!

Nice post. Good teams do go through slumps and we will weather this. I still hope we're looking for help on the trade front.
