I keep going back to Phil Jackson's claims back in the day about how elite teams win 40 games before losing 20. We're on pace for that, but I'm hoping for 30 before 10. I foresee us getting back on track soon enough

Good comments these. ;)

Is that the most undersized starting lineup in NBA history?

Maxiell is a 6'7" Center, Big Baby is listed at 6'9" for some reason but is really like 6'6" or 6'7", Afflalo's like 6'4 and Nelson's a midget by NBA standards.

More 3 pointers I say!!

Start the next winning streak with a 30 pt blowout win...3rd string team play the entire 4th qtr? I can dream!

Orlando's last 4 losses were by a combined 55 points. The last 4 losses for Portland were by a combined 9 points.

Calling on Wesley! We need your 3pt shot back!

Hopefully, we blow the Magic out so CJ can finally make his debut

Time to staunch the bleeding and get right in the head. I'd love to see focus and execution from start to finish.

It's hardly a flesh wound - nothing a Sponge Bob band-aid and some Neosporin can't remedy.

True, but I'd really prefer a 30+ blowout and 47-48 minutes of serious game face, if it's all the same to you.

And maybe also the Sponge Bob band-aid.

Vucevic is out I think which is a good thing, he's a great young center

Yup. I still don't know exactly what the concussion tests and such are, and you'd think I'd know with N. Smith, Batum, and other having dealt with that process the past 2 seasons.

Whatever the test is, it's apparent he did not pass it:

STATUS
Out - Vucevic (concussion) will likely be out for a "significant period of time," NBA.com reports. (about 5 hours ago)

Was anyone else looking forward to a Watson/Price match-up to finally put to rest who is the better PG? Really shocked by the "Lillard vs Curry" threads. This is the real story.

I forgot all about Ronnie Price! I actually really like Ronnie. He had a bum ankle most of last season but was our first bench player to score 12 pts last year.

I was pulling for someone far more cynical to pick up on that. That's progress I suppose.

I picked up on it. I just don't find sports jokes referencing crippling injuries funny any more. It will forever be too soon.

So you're saying you are far more cynical? lol I'm not sure that sucking chest wounds and open gashes made with sharp objects are representative of sports injuries though.

Everyone on this board is far more cynical than you. Even mags. And THAT is saying something. :D

And no, sports injuries are generally less bloody than the black knight, but the whole "I'm ok! I can still play! No seriously, this time they cleaned out all of that problematic scar tissue! Bones grow back stronger after they break!" thing does seem to fit the metaphor surprisingly well.

I did not know that. I think Mags is way more optimistic. I only believed the Blazers were and are a guaranteed playoff team, no more, no less. He was and still is more optimistic than me. And that's OK. We're both on the right side of the Blazer fan line.

I guess all I can do is shake my head at the "Blazer fan" that says this is their team "team" yet they can't help but verbally abuse them.
