Interesting situation though. Portland can't beat Phoenix (in Phoenix) and can't beat Houston or Dallas...yet can beat the Spurs, Pacers and Thunder.

Sometimes you don't shoot well, but what I don't understand is how the so many of the Mav guards (not named Monta Ellis) got so many wide open waltzs down the lane. We're supposed to have the more athletic PGs.

You know a loss is a loss but in the grand scheme of things a couple losses in the regular season don't really mean much in the playoffs at all. Good game.

All in all though, I'm not terribly dissapointed. The Blazers didn't play to their best, but they fought hard to the end. The Mavs came in prepared (which is something I think Stotts and his crew are lacking in, as I often see little pre-game adjustment or signs of scouting) and played well, and pulled a Blazers on us.

The bench was flat out horrible tonight, and put us in a couple of double-digit holes.

Calderon had 5 or 6 straight line drives for layups. Our guards were forcing them baseline but our help was in the paint. Then they were all waiting for Calderon to pass but he just walked right in and scored. I don't get why we kept forcing them baseline if we weren't going to provide better help.

I think collectively, people are handling it pretty well. I mean, it still stings but every season I watch the playoffs and realize how insignificant a single, or even handful of regular season games are in the grand scheme of things. These guys play 82 games a year to decide seedings, but lose 4 in the post season and it's over. Playoffs are another animal and a loss here or there in the regular season really doesn't mean shit.
