Well when he doesnt throw his lazy passes, he is a good passer. He can rebound and his defense, while somewhat overrated, is still good. Would you trust a smaller guy at SF like Barton (lol at him guarding KD and LBJ) or a more natural SF like Dorell Wright who has sucked for us?

Walton could do that at will. But he chose to go for assists like Magic Johnson later chose. Auerbach liked Walton's innovation so he taught it to McHale.
